"Taking a walk is a form of exercise," I replied, getting up and heading upstairs.
After walking for a night, I was truly exhausted.
Upon returning to my bedroom, I went to the bathroom to take a shower, and returned wearing a bath towel.
Seeing the man lying on the bed, I slightly furrowed my eyebrows. Shouldn't he be at the company at this time?
"Aren't you tired?" He looked up, closed the contract in his hand, and spoke in his usual cold tone.
Looking down, I softly said, "I'm fine." I moved to sit on the chaise lounge at the end of the bed, pulling a towel towards me to dry my hair.
Casually, I asked, "Don't you need to go to the company today?"
"There's no rush," he answered, pulling back the comforter and heading to the bathroom.
The way I get along with Lu Ze Sheng is quite peculiar, not like a normal couple, nor like complete strangers.
We can talk about work together, do intimate things couples do. If he needs me, I must appear immediately, if not, I must disappear immediately from his sight.
A sorrowful relationship, I knew there was a woman he couldn't let go of in his heart, and I knew I was like a dispensable rag to him.
Yet, I couldn't break free from this relationship.
When he came out of the bathroom, he was wearing a bath towel around his waist. His hair was wet, and water droplets flowed down his muscular chest. A man's seductive attraction, this was it.
"Help me to dry my hair," he said as he sat down on the bed, his tone cold and emotionless.
I obeyed, moving obediently to his side, and began to dry his hair quietly.
Suddenly, he grasped me close, pulling away the towel that covered my body, a situation that had occurred many times before.
Yet, I still found myself somewhat uncomfortable, slightly squirming in his grasp. I tried uttering, “Today…”
Having traveled so far last night, I was truly weary.
He stopped his movement, lifting his gaze towards me. His black eyes were deep as the sea, emanating a slightly gloomy and cold light.
His cool voice echoed with an undeniable authority, “Hmm?”
I fell silent then. As a fully acknowledged pet, I had no say…
He then voiced, in a somewhat disgusted tone, “Go take a bath!”
Forcing myself up despite the pain, I stumbled my way into the bathroom.
Three years it had been of living such days in a daze, I wondered how long I could persevere.
When I returned to the bedroom, he was already asleep. His handsome profile could certainly turn heads.
I curled up on the chaise at the foot of the bed, exhausted as I was; I just wanted a good night’s sleep.
When I woke up, it was already night, the light by the bedside somewhat dim.
Lu Ze Sheng who was once on the large bed was now gone. Hearing a knock on the door, I cleared my throat and said, “Come in!”
Aunt Chen brought in some rice porridge and milk. She looked at me and said, “Madam, you must be hungry! Eat something. You’ve slept all day, your stomach must be empty.”
Sitting crossed-legged on the chaise, I turned to her and asked, "Where's Sir?"
She placed the porridge and milk beside me, tidying up the bedding as she replied, "He left in the afternoon, rather hurriedly. There might be something urgent at his company."
Taking the milk, I smiled faintly. Was it really business at the company, I wondered? Probably not. The only thing that could disrupt his pace was likely that woman.
