"Hello, I'm Blair, I'm from Tywardreath University..."
Carly managed to escape from the boys' harassment with difficulty. Her sole desire was to rush towards the oak tree, having no patience to deal with Blair.
Seeing the young man about to leave under the oak tree, the anxious Carly interrupted Blair impatiently, "I'm sorry, you are blocking my way."
At this age, Carly was arrogant.
She didn't even look up at Blair before she walked around him.
Blair stared at his outstretched hand for a second before retracting it.
People around were mocking Blair as a poor family member, laughing at his overconfidence.
But he ignored the laughter from the crowd. He briefly glanced at the departing figure of Carly, then gently withdrew his gaze.
Neither sad nor angry, it seemed that nothing in this big world could affect his mood.
Just as he was about to leave, voices came from the crowd.
"Is he Blair? The son of porn star Evelyn?"
"That's him, Evelyn really wrought destruction, she didn’t live a good life after marriage, but kept flirting with men everywhere. In the end, she was caught by Tim, who killed her lover in anger, and ruined the rest of his own life."
"I was wondering why Tim only killed the lover, if it were me, I'd kill that slut Evelyn first."
porn star, lover, slut. These words were like sharp knives, stabbing into Blair's heart one after another, causing a pain that left him breathless.
Finally, the cold and indifferent young man showed a different emotion.
He clenched his fists tightly, the color drained completely from his face, and the bottom of his eyes filled with bloodiness. He moved rigidly, just like a walking corpse.
At this moment, a frivolous voice came from the corner, "Have you watched 'Under the Skirt'? Evelyn's figure is absolutely amazing, and her voice can make people's bones become soft. She really is a natural whore...”
Before the middle-aged man's frivolous voice could finish, there was a sudden tightness around his neck, being gripped by a pair of hands.
"Who are you calling a whore?"
A cold voice came from above the middle-aged man’s head, "Repeat what you just said."
The man lifted his eyes and met a pair of blood-red eyes.
The young man in front of him was filled with killing intent, and the blood-red color in the depths of his eyes seemed to be filled with blood, just like a demon crawling out of hell to claim lives.
Faced with such Blair, the man was so frightened that his eyes widened. He didn't have any strength at all, and could only let the other party grip his throat tightly, causing his face to turn purple.
"Let go, Blair, do you want to further disgrace yourself?"
Amelia couldn't stand being here any longer, wishing she could pull Blair away immediately, but Blair was too strong for her to pull away.
She could only whisper a warning, "Blair, your father is still in prison, do you want to go too?"
After a long while, Blair finally let go of the man.
The man collapsed onto the ground, barely suppressing the pain in his throat, not daring to breathe loudly.
For an instant, he thought he would really be killed by this boy.
Carly stood not far away, watching everything. She had no doubt that the young man would really kill the other man. His eyes were too terrifying.
When Blair left, he walked past Carly without any warmth in his gaze.
When he glanced over, Carly felt as if her blood was frozen. Her body was chilled to the core, even her breath felt ice-cold.
Long after Blair was gone, Carly gradually came out of her fear. 'That boy is a devil,' she thought to herself.
The interlude was quick and fleeting.
It was like a stone thrown into a lake - hardly anybody paid genuine attention.
Because after Blair's departure, everyone's gaze returned to Carly. She was the reason they came today.
They watched as the delicate and proud girl, after rejecting all the boys, walked alone towards the young man in white under the oak tree.
Everyone knew this was the choice made by her.
Bravely, Carly approached the boy. This was the boldest she had been in her life, and the first time openly defying her parents' will.
Did Miss Miller actually choose a cripple?
Caleb looked at Carly walking steadfastly towards him amidst people's incredulous, scornful, and jealous stares. His hands gradually tightened.
"Why me?" he asked.
"Because I like you!” Carly pretended to be easy-going, her beautiful eyes sparkled brightly.
She was a beautiful girl, delicate like a doll, her eyes so clean and clear, sincere and brave.
Feeling uncomfortable, Caleb averted his gaze and calmly said, "Your parents won't agree with this, I am a cripple."
The physical disability was a deadly pain for him.
"So what?"
Carly firmly and stubbornly said, "Caleb, no one else will be my choice tonight but you."
In Caleb's calm eyes, there was finally some emotional movement.
So what?
Hadn't she realized that when she approached him, everyone's gaze had changed?
Following him, she might never escape such looks for her entire life.
Carly carefully said, "Caleb, I know you need my help, we will become good friends, and I won't let anyone hurt you again."
Not long after his accident, she overheard her father and uncles chatting about his situation.
The car accident that had taken away his leg wasn't accidental but orchestrated by someone. However, with no evidence, it was impossible to investigate.
Carly looked at the boy she'd been thinking about for a long time, bravely reaching out her fair hand to him, "Are you willing?"
The beautiful face in front of him was so fair and beautiful, her eyes shining brightly like gems.
She was great, but unfortunately, not the girl that he wanted.
But there was one thing she was not wrong.
He needed her help now.
The identity of Miss Miller can bring him a lot of conveniences…
Caleb stared at her in silence for a moment, then raised his hand, wrapping her petite hand in his palm.
Carly's hand was so tiny and soft!
At this moment, Carly revealed a joyful smile that is sweet and pure, a little immature, a little shy.
It was this smile which Caleb remembered all his life later!
"But…"
Carly suddenly thought of something, her smile becoming a bit bitter and desolate. Still, she forced herself to smile, "What is your relationship with Ariah? One day after school… I saw you carrying her on your back."
Caleb's eyes dimmed, and a touch of deep pain flashed in his eyes. "She is the daughter of my driver. She sprained her foot that day."
Ariah was the girl whom he would protect with his life!
They were childhood sweethearts.
In that car accident, Ariah blocked the fatal blow for Caleb, enabling him to survive, while his parents died on the spot.
