Encounter True Love Behind Her Disguise

Chapter 2

"I..."

"Don't be concerned. Mr. Puckett stated that if Shannon gets cured, you will receive a large sum of money!" The driver assumed she was purposefully raising the price since she didn't get out of the car. He couldn't help but look down at her.

Carolina frowned and said in a cold voice, "Have you ever thought that I'm not..."

"I know that doctors are not greedy for money." The driver smiled hypocritically. "But if you're not satisfied with the pay, you can always talk to Mr. Puckett."

After that, he added, "Don't worry. Mr. Puckett has a lot of money."

Money?

She didn't lack money.

Carolina looked up at the gloomy sky.

The night was approaching. Returning to the Watson family would take at least one and a half hours.

The weather report said thunder and rain would occur once the night got deeper.

Carolina stretched her stiff neck, retrieved her backpack, and exited the vehicle, "Does it come with free meal and accommodation?"

The driver was confused by her question and nodded blankly after a long pause, "I think so."

The genius doctor indeed lived up to her name. Her mind was incredibly sharp.

Carolina was carrying a bag on one shoulder. She jumped out of the car in a dashing manner and stood at the gate of the Puckett's residence.

Just then, a strong wind blew.

The wind had messed up her black hair, and her face was fair. She was looking extremely stunning.

Just then, a sleek Bugatti Veyron sports car approached the Puckett residence's underground garage from around the corner. The man's delicate and attractive side view could be seen through the glass.

He wore a custom-made, high-cut suit. His hair was styled like a wolf's mane, and his appearance was divine.

As if sensing something, the man turned around inadvertently and saw Carolina's slender and frigid body.

Carolina stood there quietly. The wind blew up the hem of her skirt, revealing her white slender legs which appeared indistinctly.

The man stared at her stunning legs with his mouth agape. His eyes were vicious as well.

"Mr. Puckett." The driver suddenly said, "Tyson said that the doctor has arrived. Do you want to check up on Shannon now?"

The man averted his gaze and placed his fingers on his thighs. He looked stunning and seductive.

He looked up at the sky and smiled, "The weather is nice today. Let's go in first."

As soon as he finished speaking, there was a sudden clap of thunder in the sky.

The heavy rain poured down, and the stone paths of the Puckett residence were covered in raindrops and mist.

Tyson, the car's driver, escorted Carolina into the Puckett residence. Carolina strolled sluggishly, while her gorgeous face was expressionless.

Tyson couldn't help looking at her a few more times.

How could a girl from the countryside remain calm and collected when she saw such a lavish estate?

Indeed, she had the potential to become a well-known doctor who could perform miracles. She was so daring!

In an instant, Tyson had a good impression of Carolina.

"Well, you are a miracle doctor." Tyson strolled aimlessly, striking up a conversation, "Isn't it true that you've just reached your legal age? How did you manage to become a doctor at such a young age?"

Carolina's eyes were lowered, and she was unmoved.

She remained silent.

Tyson stroked his head and remarked, "You're incredible. Are you really capable of curing any disease?"

Carolina still looked at the ground with an indifferent expression and did not answer.

Tyson smiled awkwardly.

She deserved to be called a doctor who could create miracles. She had such a high standard!

Tyson took a breather before saying, "Well, let me remind you. Madam had been treated by many doctors and there are four or five renowned medical professionals in front of her right now. They believed that her condition was incurable. However, Mr. Puckett refused to give up and asked people to look for you everywhere. You, the renowned doctor..."

"Be quiet," Carolina said expressionlessly.

Tyson suddenly choked with sobs.

When he looked up, she was glaring coldly at him. Her eyes were chilly and uninterested.

There was a hint of innocence in her delicate face.

It was powerful and full of oppression.

Tyson was shocked by her imposing manner and did not dare to speak again.

They arrived at a beautiful patio after passing through the winding passageway.

Suddenly, in the midst of the heavy rain, a panicked scream came from inside the room.

"Oh no! Madam's heart rate and blood pressure are all dropping! Get ready to perform emergency procedures on her!"

Carolina stood at the door and watched quietly for two seconds.

The elderly woman on the bed had grey hair and her eyes were closed. She had a pale and haggard appearance. She was already on the verge of dying.

The people in the room were drowning in sweat. The doctor received the defibrillator from the nurse and was ready to treat Shannon.

Carolina's lips twisted up bitterly as she stared at the pale-faced old lady on the bed.

"Consider your options. The patient will die once you apply this."

Her cold voice astounded everyone. When they turned around, they noticed a women leaning against the door.

The girl was in her twenties. Her figure was slender and had a cold temperament.

Even though she was dressed in a plain white linen dress, it was difficult to conceal her elegant temperament.

Her gaze was calm and indifferent as she looked at Shannon.

Once everyone was done staring at her, they realised what was going on.

The woman in the corner, who had a frightened expression on her face, leapt to her feet in disdain, "Where did this lunatic emerge from? You have no right to prevent the doctors from helping her. Hurry up and get rid of her!"

Despite the fact that there were so many doctors present, no one doubted it. Where did this knucklehead come from? How dare she have the audacity to say such nonsense!

The woman rolled her eyes at Carolina with her eyes full of disdain.

Shannon had a daughter and two sons. The one who talked was the wife of the Puckett Family's second son.

She was over 40 years old, but she maintained her appearance well. Even at this moment, she still had delicate makeup and gorgeous clothes on.

Her statements, on the other hand, were too harsh and cruel, lowering people's opinion of her.

When the driver, Tyson, noticed this, he quickly added, "Mrs. Puckett, this is the renowned doctor whom Mr. Puckett has invited. She's here to take care of Shannon!"

"Renowned doctor?" Her eyes widened as she sized Carolina up. Her stern eyes were laced with scepticism.

"You're only a child, but you're already a renowned doctor? You're kidding, right?" She said cynically, "Get out of here while there's still time! Otherwise, don't hold it against me if I'm rude!"

Carolina glanced at Shannon and said, "If the treatment is delayed any longer, the patient will be incurable."

After that, she rose up sluggishly and reached inside her bag for something, "The patient appears to have heart failure, but she actually has a cardiac pulse weakening. We must first cleanse the blood vessels before treating it. Otherwise, her brain will be deprived of oxygen."

Her tone was sluggish, careless, and even a little cold.

Hearing that, the doctors were shocked.

How could this lady have known that Shannon's symptoms were caused by blood loss just by a single glance?

Shannon had been sick for a couple of days. They had looked after her for so long. How could they possibly make a blunder?

Carolina was scrutinised by several doctors. They assumed she was a liar who had come to scam money because she was dressed plainly and was young.

It was really a fascinating scene.

How dare this young lady dare to portray herself as a doctor in front of these medical professionals? Did she really think that they were easy to be fooled?

"Is there a doctor who can cure any disease? If you want to deceive others, you must assess your own strength, little girl. I've seen far too many liars like you." Then, the doctor said to the nurse once he finished speaking, "Get ready for treatment!"

It couldn't be delayed any longer!

Carolina said with a sneer, "Believe it or not, the old lady will die in your hands."

The doctor's face froze. Then, he said with a livid face, "Mrs. Puckett, can you please send someone to drive her out?"

Mrs. Puckett was going to say something when she was interrupted by a cold and lethargic voice from outside the door. "Stop."
