Just Pamper You

Chapter 2

The unexpected change left Xi Shengbai stunned for a moment, the slight pain from the icy cold paper brushing against his cheek still vividly discernible.

Tang Su's gaze was full of frost, her pride forbidding her from showing any signs of weakness before this man.

Xi Shengbai was inexplicably irritated by the woman's blatant display of disrespect. He stepped forward and firmly grasped her wrist.

"Buying me? I'm afraid you would be ruined!"

The sudden close proximity of the man made Tang Su retreat half a step. He exuded an air of freezing pressure, severe and filled with hostility.

Tang Su couldn’t understand why her former lover treated her so harshly now. Her back pressed against the icy cold wall, the man's grip was so tight it was nearly crushing her wrist bone.

The woman's fiery eyes, full of anger, seemed to conceal countless familiar past events. Xi Shengbai didn't know why, but he felt some heartache, and his grip on her wrist loosened slightly.

"Huh, don’t think your night is so precious! Do you think everyone is chasing after you? I tell you, I don’t care now!"

Tang Su's harsh words completely provoked Xi Shengbai. He fiercely gripped her face, forcing her to look at him, his demeanour coldly domineering.

"Not precious? You seemed very receptive last night!”

In face of the man's oppression, she showed no weakness, but the hatred in her heart deepened.

"Mr. Xi, don't overestimate your charm and worth!"

Tang Su ruthlessly pushed away Xi Shengbai's body from themselves. Then she quickly retracted her hand, picked up her bag, and left through a side door without looking back. She left without a glance of regret showing her unyielding demeanor.

Only Xi Shengbai was left in the room, his hand fisted, his facial expression somewhat astounded.

As soon as Tang Su walked out of the room, she ran into Lin Mo, the woman who had taken her place for five full years.

Lin Mo cried out in pain and stepped back, steadying herself and opening her mouth to retort, but at the sight of those eyes, she fell silent.

There was a cold look in Tang Su Su's eyes, her indifference as she glanced sideway was only towards Lin Mo. Not willing to waste any effort on words, she walked straight past the woman.

Overwhelmed by that gaze, Lin Mo gathered herself and glared heatedly at Tang Su Su's retreating figure before heading upstairs.

Just as the man was stepping out of a room, Lin Mo was approaching.

The woman with the elaborate makeup hesitated slightly before speaking tentatively.

"Sheng Bai, about yesterday..."

"I was just fine yesterday."

Xi Sheng Bai said casually without much emotion, but he was not harsh either.

Unchangingly aloof, Lin Mo was already used to this characteristic of Xi Sheng Bai, and she didn't hesitate to reach out and loop her arm through his. Xi Sheng Bai didn't shake her off and just allowed her to hang on to him. After all, there was no denying that she was his lover.

After leaving the hotel, Tang Su Su waited for a while at a neighboring street corner, the memory of the man's haughty attitude toward her plaguing her mind.

Slightly afar, the fragrant aroma of coffee wafted from a café. Tang Su Su slowed her steps and finally halted, not wanting to move forward after all.

The place bore some resemblance to an old store that was etched vividly in her memory. It was under such a leisurely setting she and Xi Sheng Bai spent numerous long afternoons together.

After some hesitation, Tang Su Su walked into the café and chose a seat by the window. Without thinking, she ordered Xi Sheng Bai's favorite coffee. She wanted to make a change to the order but didn't bother to open her mouth again.

If she could turn back time, she would have never chosen to walk into that café, because ten minutes later, the two people she didn't want to see the most appeared at the entrance.

When Xi Sheng Bai left the hotel and saw the café on the corner, a sense of familiarity arose within him. Wanting to walk away at first, he ended up leading Lin Mo and going in on impulse.

This place can hardly be considered high-end, and he hasn't been here for quite a while. The woman at his side was sweetly suggesting they go to a different café, but when her coquettish advances received no response, she wisely fell silent.

As soon as she walked through the door, Lin Mo spotted Tang SuSu sitting silently in the corner. The man went to place an order, so she decided to move closer.

"What a coincidence; we stumbled upon each other before, and it's happened again. Clearly someone is failing to keep their pet in check," she smugly remarked.

Tang SuSu didn't look up, she simply sipped her coffee and retorted,

"It seems you have quite the freedom."
