After Gu Xiao'an felt her breathing smooth out, she looked up at Chu Lingfeng, "I didn’t bring my household register."
Would this man who appeared to have contacts everywhere also be able to get one through the Civil Affairs Bureau?
"Miss Gu, your household register." The butler ghost-like floated over, handing the household register to Gu Xiao'an with a smile.
"Let's go." Chu Lingfeng was the first to enter the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Gu Xiao'an resentfully glared at the Buddha-like butler, then forcefully grabbed the household register and followed Chu Lingfeng inside.
Within half an hour, her significant lifelong matter was dealt with like this.
After coming out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Gu Xiao'an angrily took out her luggage from the car.
"What are you doing?" Chu Lingfeng frowned, watching her retrieve her luggage.
"President Chu, we're married now. What else are you worried about? Why don't you hurriedly tell your newly appointed brother-in-law?" Gu Xiao'an gritted her teeth as she said, "Just you wait, I'll divorce you someday."
Having said this, Gu Xiao'an took the initiative, shrugged off Chu Lingfeng's hand, and hailed a cab to leave.
"Young Master." Uncle Chu softly started speaking from behind, "The Chu family rules state that, once married, divorce is absolutely forbidden unless one died, you..."
Chu Lingfeng looked down at the marriage certificate in his hand, the corner of his mouth slightly curved, "When did I say I wanted a divorce?"
After Gu Xiao'an boarded the taxi, her resentment was still unassuaged.
The driver looked at her, "Young girl, what’s wrong, did you get a divorce?"
"Yes, I did." Gu Xiao'an held out her marriage certificate, then squeezed it tightly, fully conscious that one day, she would definitely divorce Chu Lingfeng.
Just as Gu Xiaoan was in thought, her phone inside her bag started cheerfully ringing to the tune of "Little Apple". She reached for her phone and picked it up, the caller ID on display causing her expression to subtly shift. Despite "Little Apple" playing in a hysterical manner, she never answered the call.
A moment later, the ringing finally quieted down, but it was swiftly followed by the sound of an incoming text message.
"An'an, I’m sorry, I love you."
Gu Xiaoan looked at the message, tears falling unwillingly onto her phone, distorting her vision and making her unable to clearly see the words "I'm sorry".
Gu Xiaoan lifted her head and, after considerable time, wiped her tears away and responded with a short message of her own.
"Goodbye."
Having sent the message, Gu Xiaoan tossed the phone back into her bag and leaned against the Chair, watching the pedestrians outside.
By the time Gu Xiaoan got back to school, the campus was deserted due to the summer holidays. Even the graduate dorms only housed her.
Once she had settled her luggage, Gu Xiaoan was about to sit down when her phone rang again.
Gu Xiaoan reached for her phone and picked it up. Seeing the unfamiliar number, she answered, "Hello—"
"Come down."
As soon as Chu Lingfeng finished speaking, Gu Xiaoan's call clicked off.
Chu Lingfeng looked at the disconnected call. This was the first time someone had hung up on him. Quite interesting.
Gu Xiaoan stared at her phone, she certainly was not about to play into his hands and join his drama. Let him wait downstairs.
With this thought, Gu Xiaoan tossed her phone on the bed and went to the bathroom to draw a bath, hoping to wash away the day's misfortune.
She entered the washroom and turned on the water heater, standing in front of the crystal glass counter looking at her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes were a bit swollen and red from crying.
"Gu Xiaonan, from today on, you have to avoid them," she quietly voiced out, not sure if Chu Xiaoxiao would return to school anymore. However, considering she was now married, it would make sense that she'd be living with An Hexian, and wouldn't return to the dormitory.
"Gu Xiaonan, are you courting death?"
"Ah—" Gu Xiaonan suddenly looked up, meeting the gaze of the man who was standing in the bathroom doorway. She couldn't help but swallow nervously, "How...how did you get up here?"
"I walked up," Chu Lingfeng's mood was bad, his voice icy cold.
Gu Xiaonan tried hard to suppress her fear, "We're already married, what more do you want?"
"Do you think getting a marriage certificate is all there is to marriage?" Chu Lingfeng approached her with a dangerous air, his aim was to make An Hexian give up.
"Pack up, move to my place," Chu Lingfeng would trap her in place with his hands on the counter, cutting off her means of escape, "I truly don't understand what An Hexian saw in you."
These words were full of mockery.
After all, though Gu Xiaonan was beautiful, she was no match for Chu Xiaoxiao.
"Get lost," Gu Xiaonan was mocked, she forcefully pushed him, only to find that she couldn't move him an inch, instead allowing him to get even closer.
"Woman, you're the first one who dares to tell me to get lost," Chu Lingfeng's hand held her wrists behind her back, whispering in her ear.
"If it happens once, it can happen twice," Gu Xiaonan grit her teeth and spoke, "If you want to play this act, then you go show off the marriage certificate, don't involve me."
"So, you still can't let go of him?"
Slowly, Chu Lingfeng's lips moved from her ear to the edge of her lips, just millimeters away. With a twist of her face, she caused his lips to land on her cheek.
Chu Lingfeng's eyes deepened slightly, his hand clasping her chin, forcing her to bear his kiss.
“Mmm…” Gu Xiaoan wanted to struggle, but both her hands were restrained by him.
“Don't move.” Chu Lingfeng suddenly cursed softly, pinning her entire body against the washbasin. Her eyes were slightly reddened, her skin was creamy-white and her lips, which he had ravaged, were faintly red and swollen, like brightly-red cherries waiting to be plucked.
Thump—Thump—
Gu Xiaoan started to hear her own heartbeat, abnormally loud in the quiet room.
“Gu Xiaoan, you know I have a thousand ways to make you surrender. If you really want me to resort to such methods, be prepared to endure everything.” Chu Lingfeng released her chin, his hand drifting along her smooth face, “Just be obedient, and I can pamper and cherish you. But if you insist on fighting against me, the result won't be as simple as wanting your life.”
“You…”
Chu Lingfeng retreated, straightening his clothes, looking at the slightly pale Gu Xiaoan.
“I never said that getting married is as simple as receiving a marriage license.” Chu Lingfeng said matter-of-factly.
Gu Xiaoan's hair stood on end, “You didn’t say that in the car.” She growled.
Chu Lingfeng, having tidied up his clothes, glanced back at the small dormitory, which was rather clean, and said, “Give you ten minutes to tidy up and come down.”
Gu Xiaoan watched him leave, tightly pursing her lips. Even without leaving the campus, she knew that Chu Lingfeng's words were not a threat.
Shangyuan Hao Court Vineyard.
Located in A city's most luxurious villa area on the mountainside, Gu Xiaoan got out of the car. She should not be glad that this man didn't take her to the wedding scene, otherwise, she didn't know if she had the courage to face them.
“Go straight to the third building, the password is 0101, or you can have the servant open the door for you.” Chu Lingfeng didn't get out of the car because he had already spent too much time on personal affairs today.
0101, Gu Xiaoan watched the car leave. Is this the initial password? Is he too lazy to change it?
Gu Xiaoan dragged her luggage in but to her surprise, she was stopped at the door because she was not a resident of this villa area.
But go back to school? Gu Xiaoan admitted she didn't dare to, so she could only wait at the door.
