Veiled Identities: Domineering and Rebellious Rich Lady

Chapter 2

Lexie tore the report in half. "You dare to take the Harrison family's fortune with a fake document? You must be dreaming!"

Cynthia laughed. "I've made plenty of copies of the same report."

Gordon frowned. "What do you want?"

His face remained calm but inside, he was panicking.

Did this wicked girl come here because something slipped at the hospital?

Cynthia caught the panic in his eyes but did not hint about the hospital incident.

"The Harrison family's standing in the catering industry today is intimately related to the recipes my mother left behind before her divorce.

"She didn't fight for her rights because she was devastated by the betrayal in her marriage. As her daughter, I can't let her swallow this bitterness.

"A conservative estimate of the Harrison family's market value is 40 billion dollars. I don't want much. Just transfer two billion dollars to my account within three days."

Keira was infuriated by Cynthia's words and momentarily forgot to maintain her composure.

"Cynthia, don't push your luck. My father felt pity for you living in that poor rural area, that's why he was willing to help you. Without his kindness, would you have the right to step into the Harrison family?"

Cynthia glanced at Keira. "And you are?"

Keira puffed out her chest proudly. "I am the legitimate heiress of the Harrison family."

Cynthia feigned realization. "So you're the clown who built herself up as a genius scholar based on a single award-winning safety system?"

Keira's eyes reddened with rage. "Who are you calling a clown?"

Cynthia pointed to the chaotic scene inside the house with her chin. "A true genius wouldn't make themselves a laughing stock."

Provoked by her attitude, Keira got furious and raised her hand to slap Cynthia.

Cynthia dodged and instead, retaliated with a heavy slap on Keira's face.

The clear slap brought everyone out of their shock.

Keira covered her face and demanded, "Dare you hit me?"

Rubbing her sore palm, Cynthia answered, "The instigator is the vile one."

Seeing Keira being hit, Lexie cursed, "You illegitimate bastard, how dare you make a scene here!"

The word 'illegitimate' struck a nerve in Cynthia.

She picked up a glass of red wine from the table and splashed it all over Lexie's face.

"If it wasn't for my mother making way for you, the shameless mistress, the two children you had with a married man would be the real illegitimate ones."

The wine drenched Lexie's well-maintained face, ruining her makeup.

Cynthia had never been a pushover.

Since the Harrison family had the audacity to plot against her with malicious intentions, they should be ready to face her reprisal.

Seeing his wife and daughter being mistreated, Gordon was seething with anger.

"Cynthia, assaulting people in public, don't you have any respect for the law?"

Cynthia retorted, "What law? Enlighten me!"

Lexie wiped the wine off her face. "Humph, since you dare to make a scene at Mr. Stuart's place, your fate will only be death."

Cynthia glanced at Oakley. "Is she telling the truth?"

Oakley remained calm. "You can try."

Cynthia found a decorative baseball bat in a corner and tested its weight in her hand.

Under the incredulous gaze of the crowd, she brazenly swung the bat, smashing all the decorations within the room into smithereens.

Her series of moves were swift.

Upon another glance, the once exquisitely decorated private dining room turned into a scene of utter chaos.

Upon causing a sufficient ruckus, Cynthia nonchalantly and emphatically declared, "I tried!"

Oakley, who was watching the drama unfold, was speechless, as were his bodyguards and assistants.

The Harrison family was scared stiff.

Joy Hotel was Oakley's property. Daring to show off in his domain meant that Cynthia was courting death.

Despite the provocation and insult to his dignity, Oakley didn't lose his temper. Instead, he seemed to enjoy watching Cynthia make a scene.

Five minutes later, the police arrived as expected.

"We received a report about someone causing a disturbance."

Oakley narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brows. Who had called the police?

Keira, whose cheeks had swollen from the slap, failed to notice the change in Oakley's expression.

Pointing at Cynthia with one hand, she stated, "I made the call. She's the one who started the fight and caused the disturbance."

Lexie, also aggravated, chimed in, "That's right, she even splashed wine on my face. Arrest her and put her in jail."

Seeing Cynthia, who was aggressively holding a baseball bat, the police immediately identified their target.

"Miss, put down your weapon and come with us for investigation."

Cynthia discarded the baseball bat and flashed a smile towards Gordon. "The Harrison family has been so considerate towards me, so I'll repay you in kind."

As Cynthia was taken away, Oakley thought he saw a hint of mischief in her eyes.

Gordon's heart sank. If Cynthia was arrested, what would happen to his son who was waiting for a kidney transplant in the hospital?

With a humble look, he spoke to Oakley, "Mr. Stuart, I apologize for the commotion tonight. Although Cynthia committed a grave sin, she's my daughter after all."Could you spare her this once, for my sake?"

Lexie widened her eyes in surprise. "Gordon, how could you plea for Cynthia?"

Keira also protested, "Yeah Dad, Cynthia offended Mr. Stuart so grievously in front of everyone. She deserves to be made to rot in jail!"

Gordon snapped and slapped Keira in the face. "Both of you, shut up!"

Lexie and Keira were both frightened by his anger.

Once again, Gordon put on a smiling face for Oakley. "If you could spare Cynthia, I will compensate for all the losses at the hotel, at double the original price."

Oakley gave a meaningful smile. "Mr. Harrison, you have a good daughter."

Leaving behind the ambiguous remark, he left with his entourage.

The Harrison family members looked at each other in dismay, unable to figure out what he was implying.

Holding her cheek, Keira sobbed and asked, "Dad, why did you hit me?"

Lexie also looked angry. "Gordon, is that troublemaker more important than us?"

Gordon was so infuriated that he cursed, "What a mess you've made! Have you forgotten that Joseph is waiting in the hospital for Cynthia's kidney?"

Upon hearing this, Lexie turned pale. Suddenly, she understood the meaning behind Cynthia's last words before she was taken by the police.

She would make the Harrison family pay a bloody price!

The bloody price... Did that mean their precious son's life?

Lexie shrieked in fear, "That wretch is so ruthless!"

The one being cursed, Cynthia, sat leisurely with her legs crossed in the interrogation room, showing no fear of being arrested.

The interrogating officer tapped on the table. "Be serious. The crimes you've committed are enough to detain you."

Cynthia laughed lightly. "Someone will bail me out."

"You've caused millions in damage to the hotel. Unless the hotel owner doesn't press charges, you'll be bankrupt."

Before he could finish his words, a colleague walked in and whispered something in his ear.

He was taken aback. "He came personally?"
