Urban Supreme Champion

Chapter 2

With a single kick, Nie Chen obliterated the main control panel.

With that, the entire nuclear artillery's launching system was instantaneously paralyzed.

Nie Chen stood atop one of the barrels of the nuclear artillery, his hands behind his back, his eyes blazing red as if a demonic deity had descended upon the world.

For many years, Nie Chen merely wanted to use this place as a training grounds.

If he wished to leave, no advanced weaponry could hope to stop him.

Meanwhile, fifty miles southeast of Hell Island, on the deck of an advanced destroyer.

Countless fully-armed, camouflage-clad soldiers from the Da Yan Empire, the War Wolves special ops team stood at the ready, prepared to storm the prison at any moment.

Their mission: to rescue the top agent, codenamed "Mad Dragon".

However, at that moment, deafening booms echoed from the direction of Hell Island.

The surrounding nuclear artillery platforms had all been destroyed.

There stood Nie Chen, atop the only intact barrel, scanning over bodies strewn across the island, a scene of utter desolation.

Nie Chen's expression was exceptionally calm as if all this had nothing to do with him.

Witnessing the scene, the War Wolves special ops forces stared in wide-eyed disbelief.

For them, the prospect of raiding the prison seemed an impossibility, let alone covertly approaching Hell Island.

Yet, Nie Chen single-handedly, managed to destroy Hell Island so quickly.

What sort of terrifying creature is this?

The warriors were all shocked, unable to believe it.

"My God, is this Mad Dragon even human? He actually destroyed Hell Island all by himself.”

Just as these warriors from the Battle Wolf Special Forces Team were expressing their amazement.

Nie Chen somehow appeared beside them.

"Give me a smoke."

The officer turned his head and was completely stunned at first.

A moment later, he managed to squeeze out a tiny smile.

With shaking hands, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his upper pocket, and handed one to Nie Chen.

He then fumbled to light it for Nie Chen.

Taking a deep puff, Nie Chen alone, exhaled a ring of smoke.

He casually said to all the warriors present: "What's the big deal about not shaving? Why are you all staring at me?"

Upon hearing Nie Chen’s words, the thousands of Battle Wolf Special Forces Team members finally snapped back to reality.

Immediately afterwards, they all saluted Nie Chen in unison.

"The Third Special Operations Brigade of the Xuanwu Military District, the entire Wolf Fang Special Operations team, welcomes Lord Mad Dragon back to the homeland."

The soldiers involuntarily stepped back, creating a passageway.

Nie Chen slightly nodded his head, took a cigarette to his mouth, and strode through in a dignified manner.

The soldiers in front maintained their saluting posture, scattering to the sides.

Soon, Nie Chen boarded an armed helicopter, which smoothly took off.

"Lord Mad Dragon, all the information on this top-secret mission is here. Please review it personally."

Inside the cabin, a middle-aged battle general handed over a document file respectfully to Nie Chen.

Nie Chen casually threw the cigarette butt on the leather seat next to him, then began to look through the information.

The battle general quickly scrambled to extinguish the cigarette butt, showing a bitter smile.

Top secret mission code name【Flying Sky】

Mission ultimate target: Jiangtang's Seawei Group, President Tang Ruoxue.

Mission instructions:

First, "Head to Jiangtang, infiltrate the Seawei Group, get close to Tang Ruoxue under the identity of the group security guard and ensure her personal safety."

Second, "Conduct a secret investigation, steal research projects of Tang Ruoxue's company and bring all the data of the Antigravity Plan back."

Mission duration: One year, with additional rewards for early completion.

After going through the task details, Nie Chen casually tossed the file over to the middle-aged warlord besides him.

With a look of mockery on his face, Nie said, "Nangong Ao is such a bore, going to great lengths to get me back here, only to have me play bodyguard for a woman?"

The middle-aged warlord beside Nie wore an awkward expression.

He quickly explained, "Lord Kuanglong, you shouldn't put it like that. Yes, protecting Tang Ruoxue is important, but it is secondary. Their research materials are the real deal, the most crucial part. We have to be very careful."

Anti-gravity project?

Nie Chen showed no interest in these secret documents. All he thought about was seeing his sister as soon as possible.

Thinking of his sister, Nie Chen's gaze instantly turned icy cold.

If he wanted his sister to return, he would have to complete the task as soon as possible. Hence, Nie Chen decided that he must complete this task within half a year.

Afterwards, a few special agents conducted a thorough inspection on Nie Chen.

They planted a high-tech tracker inside his body.

In addition, they also implanted three nano-bombs, in case Nie Chen tried to escape control.

Should Nie Chen make any move to escape, the three nano-bombs would explode immediately.

Yet, Nie Chen didn't worry about this. All he wanted was to complete the task quickly and return to his sister as soon as possible.

As Nie Chen left Hell Island, destroying all facilities on the island and most of the prison guards,

the few remaining inmates on the island immediately erupted in jubilation.

They all prayed and thanked the heavens for finally removing this plague.

On the other hand, the remaining prison guards’ faces were ashen as they approached grave danger.

One of the prison officers immediately reported the situation.

Upon hearing this news, a high-ranking official of a mysterious organization abroad was furious.

"Darn it, the demon in the iron cell actually escaped! What are all those people doing?"

Over the past six or seven years, in order to incarcerate the demon, Nie Chen,

they have invested a lot in terms of manpower, material, and financial resources.

Now that everything is destroyed, it is not only a heavy loss for them, but they may also face a calamity

If such a demon returns to the wide ocean, the world will truly fall into a bloody storm.

Jiang Tang International Airport.

An international flight has landed smoothly.

Nie Chen, wearing a black sleeveless leather jacket and faded men's jeans, strolled out of the airport.

But when Nie Chen went through the airport security check, he was blocked by a sudden alarm.

The staff members in charge of security, upon hearing the alarm, quickly take Nie Chen aside for a thorough search.

With an expressionless face, Nie Chen explains, "What's the big fuss about? I've got shrapnel in my body. Can you even remove it for me?"

The employee who is examining Nie Chen's belongings, upon seeing the multitude of scars plaguing his body, is immediately taken aback.

They can hardly believe that this unremarkable-looking man has so many pieces of shrapnel lodged within his body.

And all these frightful scars... who on earth is this guy?

Even after all this, he's still alive.

At this critical moment, the staff members receive a call from the airline's senior management.

They are instructed to immediately release Nie Chen without any conditions.

Reluctantly, even though they wanted to detain and interrogate Nie Chen further, they could only watch helplessly as he walks out of the airport.

Unconcerned with their gazes, Nie Chen hails a taxi and heads towards Haiwei Group.

Half an hour later.

Nie Chen is standing at the entrance of the Haiwei Group headquarters.

He pulls a cigarette from his pocket, lights it, and takes a deep puff, sweeping his gaze over the tall building in front of him.

On the signs on either side of the entrance to the lobby on the first floor, the words "Haiwei Group Headquarters" are clearly written.

Nie Chen nods slightly, realizing this is where he needs to accomplish his mission.

Taking several deep drags from his cigarette, Nie Chen flicked the butt away nonchalantly, quickly stepping towards the entrance of the first-floor lobby.

He wanted to complete his task as soon as possible to see his little sister.

However, just as he entered the lobby…

He was stopped in his tracks by two security guards at the main entrance.

"You brat, do you know where this is? Can the likes of you casually enter the Haiwei Group?"

"If you don't scram soon, don't blame us for being rude."

The two security guards stood simultaneously at the entrance, blocking Nie Chen's path, threatening him in a rude manner.

Halting his steps, Nie Chen was slightly surprised. He looked up at the two security guards.

In his eyes, these two individuals didn’t pose any threat. One punch from him could probably send them sprawling. He didn’t even take them seriously.

But he was here to complete a mission today and didn’t want to resort to violence hastily.

"Therefore," he said calmly, "sorry, I’m here for an interview. I was referred by the Shendun Security Company."

Before coming to Jiangtang, Nie Chen's identity and background had been well arranged.

He couldn't use his real name, Nie Chen, now. He could only apply under the alias, Nie Fan.

“If that’s the case, what position are you applying for?”

Looking disdainfully at Nie Chen, the two security guards sized him up and then asked.

"I'm here to apply for the role of President Tang's personal bodyguard," Nie Chen said, lighting up another cigarette as he spoke.

However, the moment he said these words, the two security guards couldn't help but snicker.

"Pff, you think someone like you could become our boss's personal bodyguard?" one of the guards jeered, tossing a half-empty bottle of mineral water at Nie Chen's feet with a mocking and disdainful laugh. "Take a good look at yourself first."

The other guard chimed in as well, "Who do you think you are? Do you think just anyone can be a bodyguard? If our boss - someone as beautiful and tough as her - were looking for a bodyguard, do you really think you'd be considered?"

They had a point. Nie Chen, in his current attire and with his habit of smoking, certainly looked like a troublemaker more than anything. Even though he had shaved, his hair was scruffy and there were a couple of holes in his jeans. Not to mention, he was wearing a pair of worn-out leather shoes. He didn't fit the image of a personal bodyguard in the slightest.

And what's more, there were quite a few scars on Nie Chen's neck and arms.

Before Nie Chen could reply, the guard on the left immediately lifted his hand and jabbed a finger into his chest, admonishing him in an icy tone, "Boy, don't push us. If you know what's good for you, scram."

"Or else, let me remind you that the baton in my hand isn't here just for show."
