X-ray Vision Legend

Chapter 2

Hearing Jay's scream, the boss walked out in a hurry and took Jay's scratch card. At first, he was stunned, and then his eyes widened. He seemed to be in disbelief.

The scream also drew the attention of the people nearby. Immediately, everyone came over because winning ten thousand surely was good luck.

On the other hand, the boss put the scratch card into his pocket and told Jay, "Your scratch card is fake!"

Upon hearing that, Jay got mad. "Hey, I bought it from you! When it's time to pay up, you say it's fake. Are you saying that all of the cards you sell are fake then?"

The crowd got bigger, and they were having their own discussions about the matter.

Seeing this, the boss sinisterly replied, "Humph, you think I don't know that you made a fake before coming here and then pretend that you won? Do you know there have been cases like this on the news where people went to prison? Get out of here now, or I'll get the cops to arrest you."

The boss wanted to take the ten thousand dollars for himself.

Jay retorted, "Is that so? How about we get your staff members to verify the card?"

"If I say it's fake, then it's fake. I'm trained in spotting fakes! I'm warning you, leave, or else!"

At this point, Jay's anger was through the roof. He was just looked down upon by a woman, and now he's scammed! As a result, he scolded the boss, "Alright then! Since you're not paying, I'll do what I have to do!"

He turned around and announced to the onlookers, "Everyone, please don't buy anything at this scratch card stall. The boss will extort you if you win anything."

As he spoke, he took fifty dollars from his pocket and threw it on the stall. Then, based on his previous observations, he picked twenty-five of the highest paying cards and gave them to the crowd around him.

Seeing this, the boss quickly kept the fifty dollars. His eyes were filled with disdain as he sized Jay up. A fool like him had better buy a lot.

Soon, Jay's voice rang out. "Everyone, please take these scratch cards. I'm feeling lucky today, so scratch them now and you may win big."

Hurriedly, twenty-five people of the crowd started scratching off the coating. Initially, they were doubtful, but some extra money wouldn't hurt. For instance, they could get a pack of cigarettes. It was just that the method Jay used to stand up for himself came off a little weird.

When Jay turned to look at the boss, the boss had a smug look on his face.

The boss thought that Jay was too conceited to think he could win so many times in a day.

It was at this time that a cry of surprise filled the air, "I won! I won thirty bucks!"

"Me too! I got a hundred!"

"Whoa! I won two hundred as well!"

"I got a hundred and fifty!"

......

Things escalated so quickly that nine out of the twenty-five people won something, and none of the winning prices are low.

The scene suddenly burst into an uproar, and everyone was filled with excitement and joy.

Meanwhile, the boss's heart sank, and his smug expression was gone. In a sudden turn of events, cold sweat oozed from his forehead.

With what was happening, more people got attracted to the scene. In an instant, there were almost a hundred people around the stall.

Jay pointed at the boss and yelled at the crowd, "Don't get too excited, everyone. The boss says that all your cards are fake, and he won't give you guys any money."

Upon hearing that, the nine winners got provoked, which resulted in them having the boss surrounded.

Jay immediately shouted, "He's trying to scam you!"

Combined with Jay's encounter just now, everyone was instantly enraged, and it caused another uproar.

A few middle-aged women among the group grabbed the boss and scratched the crap out of him. With that, he cried out in pain.

In the meantime, a middle-aged man walked up to Jay and handed a scratch card to him, saying, "Hey man, here's your winning card from just now. Go ahead, claim your prize at the headquarters."

Jay took the card, then smiled at the man. "Thank you."

"No. We should be the ones thanking you. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have won any money."

In the end, Jay walked away with his scratch cards.

Just then, he was extremely excited. It was not because he had regained the ten thousand dollars, but because he had the ability of X-ray Vision.

Yep, X-ray vision. In the past, Jay would never have dared to dream of having X-ray vision, but he gained it just like that today.

However, he felt sore in his eyes, and he knew that it was caused by the prolonged use of X-ray vision.

Although he really gained the power and had tested it, he still couldn't believe what happened and still thought he was dreaming.

To prove that he really had X-ray vision, he stared at a tall, beautiful woman walking towards him. He endured the pain in his eyes, and with a squint, the shirt and skirt of that woman disappeared immediately.

Jay quickly withdrew his gaze. If he continued to look, he would probably have a bloody nose.

Also, he planned to use his X-ray vision to make money, not to look at women. With money, he wouldn't be worried about the lack of women around him.

When he thought of this, his mood improved, and he returned to his playful self.

"Just you wait, Carley. I will make you regret it!"

After redeeming the ten thousand dollars, he went home.

Early the next morning, Jay went to work as usual. It was a jewelry company, and he mostly did odds and ends for them.

With X-ray vision, he didn't really have to work now. However, he came back to see if he could find any gems inside the raw stones using his newfound ability.

As soon as Jay arrived, he was stopped by someone.

"Um... who's that again? Oh yeah, Jay. You, come here quickly."

Seeing that it was his department manager, Joe Lee, Jay only felt a surge of disgust. Joe was swollen with arrogance, and he would always order people around.

Furthermore, he would always curry favor with the superiors in the company and was even extremely good at it.

Haughtily, Joe looked at Jay walking up to him, then he pointed at a pile of things on the floor and told Jay, "There's a raw stone trading fair in Gammelholt today. You take those things and come with me. Miss Camila Chao, the CEO's daughter, will be there, so don't talk if you're not asked to, understand?"

Hearing that it was a trading fair for gemstones, Jay was excited to use his X-ray vision at the event.

Immediately, he knew that he had to take the chance because perhaps he could buy something valuable from it.

So, he nodded, then picked up the pile of items and walked out.

Looking at Jay's figure behind him, Joe had a sneer on his face.
