Super Dope Son-in-law

Chapter 2

"Sorry, I'm late."

The young man walked in and smiled as he apologized.

Everyone looked at him doubtfully. Tia was puzzled, "Young man, who are you looking for?"

"Aunt Tia, don't you remember me? I'm Eric, Eric Scott. I used to go to your house when I was a kid. And I went to the same school with Yoselin until high school." Eric replied, "It’s your birthday. My dad is busy, so he asked me to come. Happy birthday, Aunt Tia."

"You're Tomas's son, Eric?" Tia stood up in surprise. "Wow, you're a man now. I really didn't recognize you."

Reid immediately got a seat for Eric. Yoselin was also very surprised to see her old classmate.

Tia introduced Eric. He was a neighbor of the Haleys in the early years. Later, his family moved abroad and did not return until a while ago.

"Oh, Aunt Tia, this is a gift I picked for you. Do you like it?"

When Eric sat down, he took out a box and opened it in front of Tia.

Everyone was startled. "What a beautiful necklace. Are those two sapphires on it?"

"Yeah. Before I came back, I invited Pierre, a famous French jewelry designer, to design it for Aunt Tia. Beside the two sapphires, it's made of gold with three diamonds inlaid. It suits Aunt Tia very well." After Eric finished speaking, he glanced at Yoselin and then stared at Chace for a while.

"Wow, it's so exquisite. It must be very expensive, right?" Many people's eyes shone with envy.

"No, it only costs one million. Not very expensive. As long as Aunt Tia likes it, it's worth it." Eric did not care about it.

"God, one million. Eric, what does your family do?"

"Well, my father does some small business abroad. Don't mention it. He only runs a few financial institutions."

"I didn't expect that Tomas would become a financial tycoon after so many years abroad." Reid sighed with envy.

Tia grinned from ear to ear, but she refused it. "Eric, it is too expensive. I can't accept it. You should take it back. I know you're sweet."

"No. I'm Yoselin's friend. And I should prepare a gift for you." Eric waved his hand.

Tia was stunned for a moment, then she nodded. "Yeah, I almost forgot about it. You and Yoselin were so close to each other at school. You often came to eat with us."

"If I remember correctly, you started chasing after Yoselin in junior high school and wrote a lot of love letters, didn't you?"

"Yeah, you do have a good memory." Eric looked at Yoselin meaningfully.

"Mom, why are you bringing it up?" Yoselin blushed and said embarrassedly.

"Yeah, it's all over. And I heard that Yoselin is married. It's inappropriate to mention it again." Eric suddenly looked at Chace, "Yoselin, is this your husband? Why don't you introduce him to me?"

Yoselin looked at Chace awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

"No. Chace married into our family. Well, it's a long story. I'll explain it to you later." Tia replied, "Eric, just go for it if you still like Yoselin."

"What?"

Everyone looked at Tia in surprise. Chace was still here, and she implied that Eric still had a chance? Was she going to kick Chace out?

"Mom, that's nonsense." Yoselin got mad. She knew what Tia was thinking. Now that Eric became so rich, so Tia wanted Yoselin to marry him. Yoselin had known that Tia was a bit snobbish. But Tia showed it in public, which was so embarrassing for Yoselin and Chace.

Eric knew what Yoselin was thinking and laughed secretly. In fact, Eric had known Chace and knew about their relationship. That was why he had shown up tonight.

"Yoselin, never mind. Aunt Tia is joking." Eric looked at Chace like a real gentleman. "Chace? What do you do? How did you get Yoselin's heart?"

"I had chased her for three years, but I still failed in the end."

Chace clenched his fists under the table. Whether it was because of Tia or Eric, they were humiliating him. As a member of the Dragon Group, Chace could tell what they were thinking. Especially Eric, it was obvious that he was here for Yoselin tonight.

"I don't have a job," Chace said calmly.

"Eric, forget about him. He can't get a job. He can't even do the laundry or cook well. Nobody wants to hire such a loser," Tia said. She did not want to talk too much about this, because she felt that Chace had embarrassed her.

"That won't do. Men should have a job. Aunt Tia, I can help Chace get a job." Eric felt superior. "Chace, I wonder what degree you have. I could get you a job. It sounds bad if you always rely on a woman, right?"

"You're right. Men must have a job."

"Chace, hurry up and thank Eric for his help."

Many people thought that Eric was right. Chace had become a complete loser in their eyes. Everyone seemed to be able to teach him a lesson.

"Using me to get himself a good reputation?" Chace laughed in his heart. He was too lazy to explain, and he didn't want to give Eric the chance.

"Eric, Chace is not well educated. He is embarrassed to say that he quitted after junior high school. What kind of work do you think he could do?" Reid said. He also hated to see Chace staying at home all day.

"He quitted after junior high school?"

"God, we could simply say that he's uneducated."

"Chace, are you poor or just too stupid? At the very least, you should go to a community college."

Everyone burst into laughter. They looked down on Chace even more. Now, they finally realized that Chace was so useless. No wonder he became a matrilocal son—in—law.

Chace looked at them and remained calm.

However, they thought that he was just too embarrassed to say anything after Reid touched his nerve.

Eric continued his performance and said like a successful man, "Everyone, you can't say that. Everyone has his value."

"Even though Chace quits after junior high school, he could do some physical work. For example, he could earn ten thousand a month by working hard at a construction site. That's also a contribution to society. As the saying goes, no profession is superior to others. I do know a real estate developer. I could introduce Chace to him and let him lay bricks there for a few months. Then I can talk to the developer later and ask him to promote you a team leader. There is room for development. So, Chace, what do you think? "

"Eric, you're amazing. You just came back and already knew a real estate developer." Tia said happily, "He'll do it. It's better than idling at home."

"That's right. Although laying bricks is hard work, he could get a stable income. For someone like Chace who quits after junior high school, it would be good to have a job. What else can he ask for? Besides, with Eric's help, he can be promoted later."

"Chace, you should thank Eric now."

Everyone was speaking to Chace. And Eric smiled. He successfully showed his status in front of Yoselin and her parents.

"Sorry, I don't need this job." Chace picked up the wine in front of him and replied calmly.

Tia couldn't help but scold him, "You piece of crap. So, you just stay at home and rely on Yoselin?"

"Alright, that's all you have. Yoselin will divorce you soon. I don't want to talk to you anymore."

Tonight, Eric showed up, and Tia just couldn't wait for Yoselin to divorce Chace. In her opinion, only a young genius like Eric was worthy of Yoselin. Chace, on the other hand, was just a loser.

Yoselin sighed in disappointment when Chace remained silence. What a loser.

Suddenly, someone pounded at the door.

The door opened, and two staff walked in. One of them was a manager in a suit. He smiled. "I'm sorry to disturb you, but here's the thing."

"Because of our misconduct, we have arranged the wrong room for you. You reserved Room No. 3, but this room is Room No. 1. Someone booked it, and they will arrive soon. So, I would like to discuss with you. Can you change it back?"

Yoselin stood up and said angrily, "This is your fault. You should be responsible for it. Now that we're halfway through our meal, it's not appropriate for us to change places, right?"

"Yeah, just give them Room No. 3." Tia also said angrily, "Why do we have to change places halfway through our meal?"

"I'm really sorry. But they are regular customers. They always eat here and never change. So, please change it back. We will spare you half of the expenses for our mistake." The manager could only smile and try to persuade them. He knew who the customers were. They were all important celebrities in City S. How dare they neglect these big shots?

"Hey, I don't like that. Do we look like poor people?" Eric stood up and said unhappily. He was a smart man and knew when to show off.

Just as the manager was about to explain, a group of people walked in with cold faces. The leading middle—aged man said angrily, "What's going on? Haven't you dealt with this? Mr. Van, are you going to keep my guests waiting? They are hungry!"

Chace was stunned when he saw this middle—aged man. It was Bruno Page. They were best friends in prison.

"Mr. Bruno, we won't keep you waiting. Please wait a moment. I'll solve it quickly."

The owner of the restaurant, Van Perry smiled bitterly. Bruno was not only a distinguished guest here, he was also a big shot in the business community in City S. He was an entrepreneur with a fortune of over a hundred million. Of course, Van had to curry favor with Bruno.

After saying that, Van glared at the manager and said to Yoselin and the others, "I'm really sorry. This private room was booked by Mr. Bruno a long time ago. You don't have to pay for anything tonight. Please leave now."

Van was very tough, and he was going to chase them away.

Yoselin recognized Bruno. She had wanted to cooperate with him, but she was rejected. Now she was caught in a dilemma.

"Hey, you can't do this! We won't leave, and we'll pay for it. We'll just stay here!"

Tia, who was in her menopause, was short—tempered and proud. She felt it so embarrassing if she was kicked out in front of her good friends and neighbors.

Bruno turned around and looked at them. When he saw Chace, he was so surprised that he wanted to greet Chace. But Chace looked back at Bruno and stopped him.
