Your Highness, Stop Spoling Your Wife

Chapter 2

At the end of April, it was already warm.

Madeline lived in the most remote small courtyard of the branch of the Chiles’, but the contents of the courtyard were not bad.

Wearing a spring sweater, Madeline was lying on a thick blanket, almost sleepy.

"Miss, Miss!" In confusion, when Madeline heard someone shout carefully, she slowly sat up and looked over.

Madeline blinked and asked, "What is it?"

"Big ... Big Miss, someone from the Imperial City has come to pick you up."

  Finally, it's here!

  This was Madeline's first feeling.

  Too slow!

  This was Madeline's second feeling.

From the time Madeline had received the news, including that she had gone to the Imperial City to assassinate King Sam, nine days later, the talents of the Chile’s arrived.

Sure enough, she was not taken seriously!

Madeline slowly stood up and walked to the trunk in the panicked gaze of the servant girl, then climbed down the ladder on the back and looked at the servant girl with a layer of cold sweat on her forehead. There was a smile on the corner of her mouth. "Lead the way."

If it weren't for the fact that the servant girl was lowering her head, she would have been hit by Madeline's smile.

In the living room, Mother looked at the top of her right hand. She finished her tea for the second time.

"This ..." The head of the family, who was sitting on the main branch, wiped the cold sweat on his forehead. "She's late because she needed to get ready."

The expression on her face improved a little. After all, the fact that Madeline would go clean up showed that she valued her!

"I heard that someone is looking for me?" A smiling voice came from the outside of the door, followed by a curvaceous and soft figure.

Mother Leon subconsciously followed her voice and paused.

The woman came against the sunlight and wore a simple red dress with a girdle around her waist. The corner of her mouth was smiling. Her skin was white and her eyes bright. She had a half—silver mask on her right face. She did not eclipse half of her cheeks, but instead added a mysterious beauty to her.

  What a beauty!

Mother Leon sighed in her heart.

  Philip was also stunned.

Although it was uncommon, given that they both stayed in the same house, Philip would see Madeline now and then, but why did he think Madeline looked much better now?

He shook his head, feeling that it should be his own illusion.

Mother Leon was absent—minded for a while. When she came back to her senses, she secretly scorned herself for getting distracted by a small girl. She frowned. “Big miss, you made me wait for quite a while!”

Madeline looked at Mother Leon up and down, then suddenly asked, "Are you the stepmother my father found for me?"

When this question came out, Mother Leon was immediately startled: "Miss Chiles wants to talk nonsense. I'm Mother Leon, who stands by Lady Chiles. How could I be the wife!”

"True." Madeline understood and nodded. "I knew my father wouldn't find such an old and ugly person to be my stepmother. Even though I don't remember much, I think Lady Leigh looks good. Could it be ... "

Before the words were finished, Madeline looked meaningfully at the fat and old Mother Leon.

Mother Leon was so angry that she trembled and pointed at Madeline, unable to speak for a long time.

Madeline was cold in her eyes: "You’re just a servant. Not only did you address yourself in front of me, but you also dared to point your finger at me. The atmosphere of the Chiles’ sure is good; the Leighs are managing you well!"

Anyone could see that, on the surface, Madeline said it okay, but she was just mocking her!

Maybe because she had gotten ruthlessly angry. Mother Leon actually reacted, her eyes filled with anger: "Miss, Lady Chiles is your mother after all! How can you be so rude!"

Madeline laughed sarcastically: "Does she fit in the Leighs too?"

As she spoke, before Mother Leon could retort, she waved her hand: "Don't say that you're here to teach me a lesson. If you have something to say, say it quickly or else I’m leaving!”

It was only then that Mother Leon remembered that she had come here for something.

"The Lord misses Miss, let me take you back."

Madeline laughed sarcastically. Missed her. No wonder Mother Leon’s face was not red. Why would Father Chiles ever miss her?!

When Madeline, who had long known the reason, listened to Mother Leon's words, she felt only ridicule.

She turned around and walked away. Madeline's tone was astonishingly plain: "Got it, when you're leaving, call me again, don't bother me now."

Turning around, Madeline still had a lazy smile on her face, but in her squinted eyes, there was ice.

Actually, no one knows that Madeline was not Madeline anymore.

She was just a touch of lone soul from a different world.

Eight and a half years before, the original owner of this body had already died.

Ten years ago, at the age of seven, Madeline had lost her mother. Six months later, her father, Father Chiles, had righted his favorite concubine, who is now Lady Leigh.

Then, because of the words of a wandering Taoist priest, she said that if Madeline would stay at home, she would kill her parents and relatives, so she needed to be sent elsewhere to be raised.

And her mother's death was her fault.

Thus, her father packed her up and sent her to their old home.

The people in her hometown also bullied her. The first three months were okay. The next three months, the bullying was even worse. The most serious time was when someone pushed her into the lake. It was early winter, and the small Madeline who was cold and could not swim had died.

  Then, Madeline came.

Later, because of some adventures, she had met some people and built her strength. The Madeline who had stayed in the branch of the Chiles’ was just a substitute. She sometimes came less than once a year.

Madeline wore a mask because from birth, there was a blood—red birthmark on her face. It was ugly beyond measure.

She naturally thought of ways to eliminate it. It was actually a poison. Toxins accumulated on her face so that she could grow up properly.

When life was threatened, what was important in appearance?

Madeline just did not want the news that she had been detoxified to be leaked out, and the person who poisoned her did not know yet, so she did not want to disturb the peace.

She also did not want the substitute to know that she had a birthmark on her face, so she used a mask in the middle.

If she said that before Madeline came, the bullied smiling Madeline would naturally not be able to make Philip obedient.

But in this world, people who are afraid of hardships always make up the majority.

The corner of her mouth smiled.

Now, I didn't plan to go back. Just watch from afar and take revenge.

But, my dear father, since you miss me so much, wait for me to come back!

After all, you owe me so much!
