It was July in Odonpool.
Chellise Albertson went into the coffee shop and saw a woman sitting in the corner.
The woman who was in a purple dress was morbidly beautiful. She got up as soon as she saw Chellise.
Then, the woman said to Chellise, "I'm afraid that you'll refuse to come here, as you're mad at me."
"How can I be mad? Can't you tell that I'm playing hard to get?" said Chellise as she casually sat down at the table while chewing a piece of gum.
The woman was stunned for a moment. Then, her eyes turned red.
"I know that you're blaming me. But he had never mentioned dating you when he was pursuing me. If I knew that he was your boyfriend, I wouldn't have been with him." The woman replied.
He has never mentioned it? What a good excuse!
Then, Chellise let out a cold snort and placed her phone on the table.
'I have a picture of Bolton Walters as my screen wallpaper. How can she not see it?'
All of a sudden, Chellise leaned forward with a glint of mockery in her eyes. "But you guys have already hooked up. What are you going to say about that?"
Tears started rolling down the woman's cheeks in an instant. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have started a relationship with him! If it'll make you feel better after beating me..."
As the woman spoke, she reached out to grab Chellise's wrist.
"Beat you?" Chellise shook off her hand and looked at the woman with a faint smile. "I'm afraid it will dirty my hands."
The woman seemed to feel very guilty. "If you don't beat me, I'll beat you myself. As long as it can reduce your anger..." After that, she slapped herself in the face.
Chellise could see that the woman was clenching her fist. For the first time, Chellise felt that she had something in common with the woman, as they were equally pretentious.
The woman liked to play the victim, while Chellise always pretended to be tough.
The woman knew that she could get whatever she wanted by playing the victim. On the other hand, Chellise knew that the only way to hold her ground was to act tough.
When the woman realised that Chellise did not react to her act, she seemed like she had been wronged and looked more aggrieved than ever. Tears were streaming down her face.
"Sister, I've already beaten myself. Please tell me what else do I have to do for you to forgive us..."
"You don't have to beg her!" A figure strode towards the woman, helped her up and held her in his arms.
Chellise was stunned for a second before her heart sank.
Last night, Lynley Albertson called Chellise to pick her up at the hotel as she was drunk.
However, Chellise caught her and Bolton having sex in the room when she got there. Based on the intensity of the sex, Chellise could tell that it wasn't their first time having it.
Then, Lynley wanted to meet up with Chellise today. So Chellise came to see what Lynley was up to. Chellise didn't expect Lynley to play the victim to get sympathy from Bolton.
What a fake b*tch!
When Chellise saw the affectionate couple, she touched her chin and glanced at them coldly. "Bolton Walters, please get it straight. I am your girlfriend!"
"But Lynley has always been the one I love!" Bolton looked at Chellise coldly. "The reason I dated you was because I wanted you to be my shield."
At this point, Chellise couldn't help but sneer.
In the past five years, she used all kinds of means to drive women who wanted to seduce Bolton away. She even thought about giving up her acting career just to become his lover.
Little did Chellise know, she was just a cat's paw.
"Congratulations to both of you wicked people. May you guys get struck by lightning and get hated for being so pretentious." Chellise left after she had done speaking.
She left in a hurry, as she was afraid that she couldn't hold it anymore and would burst into tears.
She got into her car as soon as she came out of the coffee shop. Then, she stepped on the gas and drove off.
However, Chellise didn't expect Lynley to go after her. Lynley was acting as if she wanted to atone for her wrongdoing through death and ran her car over Chellise's car.
Chellise, on the other hand, was so frightened that she instantly turned her steering wheel without paying attention to the car behind her.
A loud crash rang out.
The hood of Chellise's second-hand Alto was damaged. Fortunately, the car behind was not driving fast. Otherwise, she would have survived.
The worst part was that Chellise had run over a hand-built luxury SUV, the Knight XV.
Although the Albertson family was wealthy, Chellise was not. She could not even afford a car rim with all her belongings.
Lynley Albertson, you b*tch!
Chellise forcefully opened her deformed car door and rushed towards Bolton and Lynley. Meanwhile, Lynley instinctively buried her face in her hands.
Chellise did not even bother to look at Lynley. Then, Chellise, who had scarlet nail polish, rummaged in Bolton's pants pocket for something.
"What are you doing?" Bolton didn't expect Chellise to be daring enough to tease him in public. Then, Bolton couldn't help but blush with a mixed feeling of embarrassment and anger.
Chellise wanted to laugh when she saw the look of humiliation on Bolton's face. No matter how bold Chellise was, she would not lose her temper in the middle of the road.
It took her some effort to find Bolton's wallet. Then, she immediately took out a black card from his wallet. Since Lynley was the one who ran over Chellise's car, of course, Chellise would want Bolton to pay for her car's repair.
"Chellise Albertson, are you crazy?" Bolton exasperatedly shouted when Chellise took his exclusive credit card from him.
When Chellise, who was petite, stood beside the Knight XV, it accentuated her petiteness and made her seem like a car pendant.
She handed the black card to the driver of the car through the car window and said to the driver, who seemed to be panicking, "Here is the compensation for the car repair. Why don't you have some tea to calm yourself down?"
There was a person in the backseat of the Knight XV.
It was an arrogant looking man in a white shirt and black trousers. At the moment, he had cold and gloomy expressions. He was staring intently at Chellise.
Chellise could feel the chilly air coming out of the car window, so she could not help but rub her arms. She thought that the man didn't have to put his air conditioner in such low-temperature even if he was wealthy.
When Chellise turned around and saw that black smoke was coming out of the hood of her second-hand car, her heart ached.
At this point, she decided to let the matter go.
She bypassed the front of the car and got into the passenger seat. "Hottie, can you please take me to Vibe International?"
The man said with a cold expression, "This isn't a taxi..."
"Stanley, step on the gas." A low, mellow but cold voice sounded in the backseat.
Before Chellise could look at the person in the backseat, Bolton suddenly opened the car door of the passenger seat. Then, he grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the car.
"I want you to apologize to Lynley!" Bolton exclaimed.
Chellise lost her balance and had almost fallen to the ground.
Chellise's heart ached a lot at the moment. She had loved Bolton and sacrificed a lot for him in the past five years. However, he gave her the hope that they would be together and destroyed it now.
Then, she smiled sinisterly and responded, "She has stolen my boyfriend! You want me to apologize to her? In your dream!"
Bolton glared at Chellise and dragged her with him. "She cried all night after knowing about our relationship last night. She cared so much about your feelings! How could you try to run over her car?"
"Bolton, if you love Lynley, marry her and tie her up at home. Don't let her run over anyone else's car!" Chellise said.
Bolton was fuming with anger, so he yanked Chellise's arm forcefully. "Apologize!"
Chellise struggled desperately. "Let go of me! Lynley, your dog is out of his mind. Come and settle him down!"
Bolton was so irritated that he raised his hand and wanted to slap Chellise. However, Bolton suddenly paused just as he was about to hit her.
It turned out that a man, who was taller than Bolton, was standing beside him. Bolton had no idea when the man had appeared next to him either. However, the man's manner was ten times more imposing than Bolton's. Therefore, the man could cause Bolton to pause his actions.
The man was so tall that Chellise had to raise her head to look at his face. However, all she could see was the dazzling sunlight. Even though it was a hot summer day in August, the man could send chills down Chellise's spine.
The man's husky yet intimidating voice could make anyone in awe of him.
"Let go of her," the man said.
