On a typical wet afternoon in Everland, Celine Ye was seen going towards a huge villa in a wheelchair.
The rain fell to the already saturated pavement as she opened the electronic door before going to the third floor on lift.
She was here to give her fiance a surprise.
At the doorstep, she heard a familiar voice ring out from the inside. "Bill, are you really going to marry her? She can't even walk!"
Celine peeped into the room. She could see Bill, her lover and soon-to-be husband, cuddling her stepsister, Kate Ye on the bed. Both of them were completely nude now.
"Of course, I am! I need to get that d*mn ring on her hand and the company of her mother!" Bill said with an evil smirk.
"Then will you divorce her after that?" asked Kate while caressing Bill's chiseled chest.
"Divorce? I'll ditch her right after I get that f*cking company." Bill burst into laughter. "She's just a useless idiot."
Kate rested her head on Bill's chest and whispered, "You'd better keep your words."
"I will. And now, shall we continue to have fun?" Bill groped Kate's bosoms wantonly before music of their pounding continued.
Celine's fury sprang to life. Pushing the door open, she screamed, "Find yourselves another room, for goodness' sake!"
With that said, she wheeled herself toward the lift, as she fought the tears from dripping down her cheeks.
"No, Celine, hear me out!" Bill ran out of the room and blocked Celine's way, wearing only a towel.
"My dear sister Celine, please, it's not what you think," said Kate, while struggling to cover her bust with the blanket.
"Get out of my way. Just the sight of you two makes me feel sick." Celine's knuckles turned white from grasping the wheels too tightly.
"Celine, can you just forgive us? This is the first time we did this," begged Bill, barely having any hint of regret in his voice.
"Just let me go!" shouted Celine at the top of her lungs. She would never forgive someone who betrayed her.
Moreover, Celine knew very well her father, Gary Ye. He had always sided with Kate and her mother, Kim Liu. Celine, ever since Kim's arrival to her family, had always been an outcast.
She would not allow Kim and Kate to continue to exploit her kindness and empathy.
Bill and Kate exchanged glances before Bill returned to the room. Kate instead went to wheel Celine toward the staircase.
"Celine, do you know what Mom has been doing to you? Don't you realize that you've been getting weaker day after day ever since you lost your leg?"
Kate proceeded to whisper into Celine's ear, "That's because Mom has been mixing silver in your orange juice every day. She was also the one who asked the surgeons to get your right leg amputated after the accident."
Celine's heart missed a beat.
Kate smirked, "Besides, she's never pregnant. You're such a fool to have trusted us, Celine."
Rage pulsed through Celine's veins. "How could you do that, Kate?!" Her tears threatened to spill forth.
"And, also, the car accident was never really an accident. The driver was just someone I hired." Kate then burst into laughter. "You're the only one who thought it was an accident."
"Why did you do this to me? What've I done so wrong to deserve this?" Celine could not wrap her head around it; she had never shown an ounce of malice towards Kate and Kim.
"Drop your act, Celine! Dad and Mom had been in love for years before your d*mn mother showed up out of nowhere. Without you and your mother, I'd have grown up in a happy family. But because of your presence, Mom has been called a mistress throughout her life!"
Anger overpowered Kate, her chest rising up and down rapidly. "Celine, the rightful owner of whatever you have now is me. The villa, the company, and Bill included. I'm only claiming back what I've lost."
"You're the rightful owner of all these?" Celine sniggered. "What a joke! Keep your facts straight! It's Dad who pursued my mother. She's never known that Dad's secretly seeing your mom."
"Shut up, Celine!" Kate wrapped Celine's mouth tightly, as she screamed hysterically. Kate hated Celine so much that she wanted Celine to disappear from the surface of the earth right then and there.
"Enough talking, Celine." Kate's lips spread into an evil smile. "Things will get back on the right track if you're dead."
With that said, Kate pushed Celine and her wheelchair down the staircase. Celine fell down the stairs before her head hit the edge. Scarlet-red blood coursed out of her forehead immediately as her consciousness dissipated.
"Goodbye, Celine." Kate turned on her heel and left.
Celine struggled to keep her eyes open. Such an idiot she was for the last five years, to have trusted and loved these people.
If only, there was a second chance in life…
"Well then, as you wish, my girl," a voice whispered in darkness.
