Two mighty Alphas were facing each other in a hand to hand combat. Earth below was trembling with ferocity of opponents.

Half shifted Alpha Sebastian Michaelson was battling with dark grey wolf of Alpha Ian Somerhalder. Drenched in his own blood, Alpha glared at his provoking snarls.

In a jiffy, he launched at grey wolf and completed his shift mid-air, aiming for the last lethal blow.

Unfortunately, he missed his neck merely by some millimeters. Grey wolf yelped in pain, a fountain of crimson blood erupted from his wound.

His pleading eyes were searching for his Luna, who was waiting for the cue. Standing tall in the cheering crowd, she raised her hand and summoned a fire arrow.

With a delicate flick of her index finger, it was directed towards Alpha Sebastian. Unknown to this deceit, he successfully tackled down the weakened Grey wolf, howling in victory.

But when his lone howl was not followed by his victorious Pack, he got alerted and turned.

“Milly!”

He shifted back instantly and clutched Milly to his chest, his fated Luna who took that fire arrow instead of him. She placed her blooded hand on Alpha Sebastian’s face and spoke with great difficulty,

“Being your mate was the best thing ever happened to me. Sebastian, take care of my Na…..”

Her good bye remained incomplete as death didn’t give her enough time.

“No!”

Alpha Sebastian’s heart rending shriek resonated in the whole fighting arena, startling the warriors of the attacker’s army.

Seized by the piercing stab of his mate’s death, he was drowned in the misery of the broken mate-bond.

Fair skin Alpha Ian got up with his Luna’s help, biding final farewell.

“It was a good fight, Sebastian. See you!”

That witch Luna opened a magical portal and they all left, gloominess of the departed soul engulfed the territory of the Shadow Moon Pack.

“You are on your own now, Nathanial. I have to take revenge of my Milly’s murder.”

Addressing to his grieving teen ager son, Alpha Sebastian’s voice was firm with determination. Murder of his soulmate took a toll on him, rendering him a blood thirsty monster, craving for Alpha Ian’s blood.

He engrossed himself in tough training trading physical pain with the agony of emptiness. He was dead inside, only motive fueling him was vengeance. His fury obliterated his two sons from his mind, the biggest gift Milly left for him.

Those poor souls were fifteen years old and nine years old respectively. Elder boy Alpha Nathanial understood his father’s worsening condition without any question and averted his attention towards Neil, the one who was too young to realize his loss.

Despite of being a Mama’s boy, Nathanial took the duty of nurturing his brother, whose repeated questions got him father’s beating twice.

“When will mommy come back?”

“If you sleep now, she will come in your dreams.”

Nathanial kissed his brother’s forehead, pacifying him. His next mission was to assist his father, he couldn’t let that bastard roam on the land freely.

“My wolf is on the same page with me, why it is taking too long for me to recover?”

As soon as Nathanial reached his father’s office, a thunderous growl halted him in his tracks.

“We are trying, Alpha.”

He recognized the terrorized voice of the Pack’s doctor, who was kneeling on the ground. Nathanial decided to peep through the window, solely focusing on the arguments in Alpha’s office.

“Please, take a look at this, Alpha. It will clarify everything.”

Beta Andrew presented a file to Alpha Sebastian, which was snatched impatiently.

“How dare he!”

Reading it’s content at super sonic speed, he tore that file into two.

“Alpha Ian is misusing Moon Goddess’s blessings. Neighboring Alphas are sending letters for your help, Alpha. Please guide them.”

Sebastian: “Inform all the Alphas about annual fight competition. Top ten Alphas will join us in ultimate war against Crystal River Pack.”

Nathanial waited their exit patiently and then joined the pieces of paper to solve the puzzle.

“Alpha Ian Somerhalder of the Crystal River Pack is blessed with a dark witch, Melissa Millar, as his mate. With the trickery of energy sucking spell, Alpha Ian is winning Packs after Packs by destroying his opponent’s soul.”

This short report of Beta Andrew cleared all the haze of previous incident, answering Nathanial’s query of his father’s delayed healing.

In the following days, Shadow Moon Pack was bustling with hustle of desperate Alphas, horrified by the growing power of the Crystal River Pack.

“I want to take part in Alpha’s competition.”

Nathanial’s innocent wish was rewarded with a stinging slap. Alpha Sebastian locked his both sons in the darkness of the basement.

Ten best warriors were then selected after passing through the tough criteria of strength and valor. They all left their Pack’s responsibilities and commence their journey of combining their fortitude.

They all were the victims of Alpha Ian power’s lust, bearing heavy losses in a small ambushes.

Contrary to their tireless efforts, day of the final Battle was same as before. All the ten Alphas and Beta Andrew were slaughtered, leaving Alpha Sebastian as the last man standing.

Blazing with the animosity, he charged at Alpha Ian, whose vile smirk wasn’t enough to conceal his decrepit counter attack strategy.

His feeble claws were inadequate to block the hurricane of Alpha Sebastian’s onslaughts, he pleaded his Luna to take action.

But this time, Alpha Sebastian was well prepared. Before that witch can do anything, he thrashed Alpha Ian on the ground, slitting his throat in one go.

His challenging gaze fell on that Luna, whose wide eyes were oddly satisfying for him.

He howled with his remaining Pack warriors as he was proud to sent that bastard to Hell in his human form, his wolf heaving in relief on his decision of assistance at back foot.

Alpha Sebastian got up and kicked that dead body, wiped the beads of sweats from his tanned hard chest.

Before leaving, he spat on Alpha Ian’s grey wolf, growling in satisfaction. He was unknown to the fact that a pair of enamored eyes were fixed on him…
