"You mustn't turn on the lights tonight. Don't ever let Young Master Ferguson see your face, do you understand?" a man cautioned.
"If you can't keep him with you tonight and drag the Wadleigh family down, I will make your life a living hell!" he continued.
She trembled as she recalled her father's warning.
Her sister ran away from the night before the wedding. Her father was at a loss when she volunteered to marry Joshua Ferguson to solve the crisis of the Wadleigh family.
Before she left, her father reminded and warned her countless times.
As long as she could sleep with Joshua, the Wadleigh family would have plenty of excuses to pacify the Ferguson family.
She wore a veil and was led into a bedroom by a stranger.
The stranger was closing the door when she mustered her courage to ask nervously.
"Erm... When will Young Master Ferguson arrive?"
"We don't know either. Madam, you should clean yourself and wait for him."
The stranger closed the door upon finishing.
Savannah Wadleigh locked the door hurriedly before taking off her veil.
She stared at the stunning wedding on her. She had mixed feelings about everything.
She was going to marry Joshua Ferguson, a notorious playboy in Mayjadell City. He was never short of women. His private life was a mess and he took advantage of his power to bully others... He was a terrible man.
There was a saying in Mayjadell City. It was better to marry a poor man than Joshua Ferguson.
It was obvious that everyone knew how awful he was.
However, the Ferguson family offered a fortune to marry her sister. They liked her sister for her sister’s good character. Her sister was a role model among wealthy young ladies.
The Wadleigh family had no choice but to agree. Unexpectedly, her sister ran away the night before the wedding.
She did not want to marry Joshua either. However, she overheard that her father was going to marry her off to an old man in his sixties. It suddenly dawned on her that marrying Joshua would be the better choice. After all, Joshua was part of the Ferguson family!
However, she must sleep with him. Otherwise, everything would be in vain.
She was in a panic when she heard footsteps outside the door. She was so frightened that she trembled uncontrollably and curled herself into a ball on the bed.
The door creaked open and she heard heavy footsteps.
The intruder seemingly had no intention to turn on the lights. That made her heaved a sigh of relief.
The man stopped in front of the bed. Time seemed to have frozen as he stood motionlessly.
She felt like her heart was in her mouth.
What was he going to do?
She thought that the playboy would definitely force himself on her. Therefore, she was taken aback when he turned to leave after standing there quietly for a few minutes.
She recalled her father's threat and it made her jump out of bed. She rushed forward to tug his shirt tightly.
"It's... Our wedding night."
She used up all her courage to speak.
His body stiffened. He was surprised that she would make the first move.
In the dark, the man turned around to hold her chin.
"Do you know who I am?" The man's voice was hoarse and low. Every single word from him sounded like a temptation.
"Jo... Joshua Ferguson?"
"Hmm?" He seemed a little upset and he raised his tone.
She instantly went numb and asked tentatively, "Hu... Hubby? Dear?"
Before she could finish, he suddenly pressed his thin lips against hers. Immediately, he took over her lips forcefully.
She was caught off guard and tried to push him away out of reflex. Yet, she suddenly recalled something and stopped resisting gradually.
She closed her eyes and clenched her fists tight. She was waiting for his next move.
Tonight... Something must happen.
There was a sharp tearing sound.
Her clothes were torn to pieces.
"You have flat chest," the man commented coldly.
His huge hand glided over her body and landed somewhere on her body.
His remark was a humiliation to her.
