Huang Liu, located on the border of the Hua Xia nation.

Since this is disputed territory, there is no settled government. In time, it has come to be the haven for criminals and outcasts.

On a vacant land in the western part of Huang Liu stands a military camp.

In the center of the camp, a black flag flutters. The banner depicts a five-clawed golden dragon, outlined in golden thread, it appears to be if it were growling fiercely.

At this moment, a boy around eighteen, with a short crew cut, slightly dark skin, bright and firm eyes and a body straight like a sword, is standing with a large marching bag on his back, saluting the flag respectfully.

"Sigh!"

With a long sigh, the youth turns and leaves.

He gets into a green jeep riddled with bullet holes and moves leisurely out of the camp.

The boy is named Jiang Hao.

Three years ago, Jiang Hao was sold to Huang Liu by human traffickers. Just when he was about to have his organs cut out, soldiers broke into the scene and saved him from the operating table.

Perhaps out of gratitude, or perhaps due to sensing his own weakness, Jiang Hao stayed with the troops for three years.

These three years, he lived on the razor's edge. Now that he is about to leave, he is filled with numerous unwillingness.

Just as Jiang Hao drove away from the camp, wishing to take one last look at the camp through the rear-view mirror, his eyes filled with tears, crying uncontrollably.

In the rear-view mirror, at the gate of the camp, a group of soldiers in uniform were saluting him.

Taking a deep breath, Jiang Hao stepped firmly onto the gas pedal. The old-fashioned jeep roared fiercely, picking up speed. Not until the camp was no longer visible in the rear mirror did he slow down.

An hour later, the jeep was cruising along the cement road when a black Benz off-road vehicle suddenly darted out from the right side of the road.

"Screech~"

Jiang Hao swerved sharply, and the abrasive sound of the tires against the road surface rang out sharply. Had he not reacted so quickly, the two vehicles would surely have crashed head-on.

"Boom!"

Although he avoided the Benz, the jeep had still spun out of control. Despite Jiang Hao's best efforts to regain control, the jeep still slammed into a massive boulder on the side.

"Damn it! Are you trying to piss me off?" Jiang Hao got out of the jeep and cursed. Having lived in the wild for so long, he had developed a short temper.

The Benz pulled over not far from Jiang Hao, and a young woman stepped out of the car.

She appeared to be in her twenties, dressed in a professional OL

ensemble, her long shoulder-length hair cascaded down like a waterfall. She had a typical melon seed face, skin as smooth as cream, delicate enough to break, and a figure that was extraordinarily graceful.

What was especially striking were her eyes, which seemed to contain myriad stars and proved all too easy to get lost in.

“I'm sorry, we have something urgent. We can compensate you," the woman apologised with a smile. Her chest heaved violently, and the panic on her face was evident.

The woman's beauty didn't leave Jiang Hao in a daze. He had seen too many venomous beauties in the wilderness, and those were all the sort who would devour someone whole.

He subconsciously touched the handgun concealed inside his jacket, his eyes sharp as he pointed at the rear end of the jeep and questioned, “Compensation? Do I need your compensation? Are you blind? Can't you see what kind of car this is?"

As the woman followed Jiang Hao's pointed finger to the jeep’s license plate, she saw a black plate with a golden dragon. Her knitted brows furrowed slightly in confusion, not quite understanding Jiang Hao’s point.

Jiang Hao looked at the woman's expression and was slightly taken aback.

In the wilderness, there isn't a person who doesn't recognize this license plate. It represents the most potent faction in the wilderness, the Shadow Dragon Troop!

"Ugh, how troublesome, an outsider indeed," Jiang Hao released the grip on his gun, and scoffed reluctantly.

In the Wasteland, such issues were usually resolved by brute force. However, Jiang Hao was indoctrinated by the Shadow Dragon force, thus he could not strike at an outsider without cause.

This opened a can of worms for Jiang Hao because he was relying on the jeep to get him out of the Wasteland. Unfortunately, the jeep was visibly 'dead and gone.'

"Xiao Yi, what are you arguing with this bumpkin about? We're in a rush, get in the car, I'll handle it,"

As Jiang Hao was deep in thought, a man's cold voice suddenly echoed in the background. Descending from the Mercedes-Benz was a youth of fair complexion adorned in brands from head to toe.

Casting a disdainful glance at Jiang Hao, the young man snorted, then gestured at the Mercedes-Benz. A bald, muscular man with a fierce look immediately stepped out from the driver's seat, glaring at Jiang Hao.

"Kid, we're in a hurry. Just state your price", said the young man in a demeaning tone.

Jiang Hao's brows furrowed, suppressing his immediate outrage.

Remembering his superior's instructions, he took a deep breath and pointed at the Mercedes-Benz, "I'm not asking for money. All you need to do is leave the car behind!"

At Jiang Hao’s words, the youth paused. This Mercedes-Benz GLA was top-notch, costing him close to two million yuan. He didn't expect the young man in front of him to make such a hefty demand.

"You ungrateful kid!" The youth's face hardened.

Unfazed by the threat, Jiang Hao even flashed a sly smile, a hint of mockery on his face, "You can choose not to give!"

The young man took a deep breath, deciding not to waste any more time on Jiang Hao. He signaled the muscular man next to him.

The muscular man acknowledged with a nod and moved closer to Jiang Hao, his fists crunching.

"Song Ao! Stop! We are the ones in the wrong!"

Just when Jiang Hao was about to take down the brawny man in front of him, the woman from before rushed over from a distance, putting herself between Jiang Hao and the muscular man.

"Xiaoyi, move out of the way now! We don't have time to delay here!" The young man, who abhorred Jiang Hao at this moment, said in panic, constantly looking over his shoulder.

However, the woman ignored the young man. Instead, she turned to Jiang Hao with a tender smile, asking, "Where would you like to go? We can give you a ride."

Before Jiang Hao could respond, the young man interjected in shock, "Xiaoyi, we must leave the wasteland as soon as possible. We don't have time to give him a ride!"

Jiang Hao took a meaningful look at the woman in front of him. Her various behaviors were enough to prove that she was kind-hearted.

Sadly, for people with good hearts, the wasteland was a forbidden area!

"Ah!" Jiang Hao sighed deeply.

Though the Shadow Dragon squad was not an official army of Huaxia, the reason for its existence was to protect the Huaxia people in the wasteland.

"My bad luck," Jiang Hao shrugged in resignation. "I'll reluctantly go with you."

The woman patted her own chest in relief. It was fortunate that Jiang Hao had the same purpose as them, otherwise, things would have gotten complicated.

The young man gave a dismissive chuckle, but he didn't voice out his objections. There was plenty of space in the Mercedes, one more or less person didn't matter.

Even though he found the country bumpkin in front of him quite annoying, there was no time to waste here.

Jiang Hao turned back to his jeep, slinging his military backpack over his shoulder. Just as he was about to head for the Mercedes, he suddenly remembered something and took out a screwdriver from his backpack to remove the license plate from the jeep.

"Countryside bumpkin! Are you playing around because you have nothing better to do? Why remove the license plate? Let's go now! Or else I –..." The young man began to yell, but he was stopped mid-sentence by the woman.

She looked somewhat guilty as she said, "It's normal for him to feel regretful, our actions resulted in his car breaking down after all."
