In the largest five-star hotel in Dongyang city, the colossal crystal light dangled from above. Numerous spotlights swept across the venue, casting a dreamy ambiance over the hall. The engagement ceremony of Dongyang's first prince, Jing Shaoming, and Gu Xiaolan was underway.
However, the bride-to-be was being pursued endlessly by a handful of bodyguards.
"Stop running!"
"I'm so hot..." Gu Xiaolan grunted as she tugged at her collar, a unnaturally flushed hue blanketed her cheeks.
No kidding, one would be a fool not to run!
Just moments ago, after she had gulped down a wine handed over by her Aunt Tang Min, an unusual surge of heat began to spread through her body.
She glanced back at the relentless pursuers and made a beeline for the elevator. Although she had no idea what was in the wine she had just consumed, she was certain, considering her knowledge of her aunt, that it was not something benign. And she was not foolish enough to stick around after drinking something suspicious!
She hit the button for the hotel's top floor and watched as the elevator rose. Only then did she allow herself to heave a sigh of relief. She thought cheekily, 'Let's see if they can fly up here!'
What she didn't know was that this was a floor that only the most esteemed guests of the hotel could access, completely off-limits to ordinary individuals.
A burgundy velvet carpet stretched from the elevator mouth towards the suite. Without a second thought, Gu Xiaolan hurriedly slipped inside. 'These suites are ridiculously expensive, so there should be nobody living here! Besides, I can’t be that unlucky, can I?'
The intense heat within her body was becoming increasingly unbearable, making her swallow hard. However, her consciousness was beginning to blur.
Damn it! What the hell is going on?
The suite was faintly illuminated by a warm, orange hue. She vaguely caught a glimpse of the luxurious decoration inside the suite, and heard the faint sound of water coming from the direction of the bathroom.
Suddenly, the sound of water ceased altogether.
A man named Mo Yixiao emerged from the bathroom. He was clad in nothing but a towel tied around his lower body, revealing his muscular physique and a perfect merman line.
Eight-pack abs, a golden ratio – he could well be described as a model. His physique, carved like a masterpiece, would make anyone swoon, their blood racing.
Droplets of water trickled down from his hair onto his shoulder, then slowly dropped off.
"Who's there?" His voice, icy and bone-chilling, was like a walking Antarctic iceberg. It was low, languid, and as melodious as a cello being played.
Gu Xiaolan only felt dizzier. Apart from the heat engulfing her body, she felt somewhat unconscious.
It's so hot!
Why is it so hot?
Why did it feel like several ants were crawling back and forth inside her body, slowly moving towards her heart?
She leaned against the wall, shuffling towards the faint orange glow. After a few steps, a refreshing coolness hit her face. Her eyes widened in surprise as she scuttled forward twice more. The cool, damp touch seemed to quell the heat inside her immediately.
"Get out!"
An icy voice, followed by a sudden coolness, resonated abruptly.
Gu Xiaolan was at a point where she couldn't think of anything else; she only felt that the cool and slightly wet object could suppress the fire inside her. Upon touching this coolness, she seemed to feel lighter.
Even though it didn't feel smooth to the touch, being chunky and hard, it was still manageable after all. With this thought, Gu Xiaolan decided to press against it. It didn't matter what it was, as long as it worked!
Mo Yixiao's face had already darkened beyond compare. He looked at the woman who had barged into his suite and was blatantly stirring up trouble on him, a dark ink-like colour seemingly unresolvable in his eyes.
"Do you want to die?" The voice, like it was echoing from an ice cellar, Mo Yixiao grimaced at the little woman clinging to him, his eyes filled with a mixture of rage!
