"Mo Mo, Mo Mo, wake up, you're going to be late."
Song Yimo turned over without opening her eyes. If one inspected closely, a contented smile could be spotted lingering at the corner of her mouth. It had been a long time since she last dreamt about her grandma. It was wonderful, she decisively would not open her eyes.
"Mo Mo, oh, why is this child so hard to wake today? Mo Mo." Seeing that she still made no movement, the elderly woman was getting ready to fetch a cold towel to wipe her face.
However, Song Yimo thought her grandma was about to leave. She threw herself over, wrapping her arms tightly around her waist, her eyes still shut as she affectionately nuzzled into her, "Grandma, it’s been a long time since you visited me, I missed you."
The elderly woman playfully slapped her buttocks, "I see you daily, morning till night. How has it been a long time? Mo Mo, your excuses to sleep in get more creative by the day. But it’s no use, I won’t be tricked. Up you get, let's take advantage of the lack of people early in the morning and register promptly, we won’t even be able to squeeze in later."
While speaking, the elderly lady gave another slap on her buttock, this time a little stronger. The sensation of pain finally made Song Yimo sense something was off.
Opening her eyes that she was reluctant to, she blinked a few times. The figure in front of her remained, unlike the instances when she would disappear as soon as her eyes opened.
She stretched out her hand again, huh, warmth?
Pulling on her cheeks, Eh? Bounced back?
The elderly woman eluded her hand, deftly pulling on her cheeks and asked, "Awake yet?"
Song Yimo gave a slight nod, she was awake. Albeit she felt the manner of awakening a tad strange, she stared unblinkingly at the slightly chubby elderly lady. Song Yimo's eyes instantly turned red.
Even if this was a dream from which she would quickly awaken, she was still grateful to the deity that gave her this dream.
"Mo Mo? What's wrong today? Are you sick?" The elderly lady asked, initially surprised, then immediately expressing concern and goes to check Yimo's temperature.
Song Yimo held her hand and rubbed it against her face, it was warm and soft, just like how she remembered it before Grandma fell ill. Grandma's hands turned cold and skinny after her illness; no matter the effort, Song Yimo could only warm them up temporarily.
"Grandma, I miss you so much.."
"Silly child." The elderly thought the clingy granddaughter had had a nightmare. She gently stroked her back from top to bottom, her voice particularly warm, "Oh Momo, we cannot control birth, aging, sickness, and death, just live each day happily and be true to yourself, even if one day Grandma is gone..."
Song Yimo immediately raised her head, her face full of anger, "Grandma!"
"Alright, alright, Grandma won't talk about it anymore. Don't worry, Momo, Grandma is still waiting to see her great-grandchildren. How can I be willing not to see it? Our little Momo grew up so fast. In three years of high school then you'll be able to date."
High school... Song Yimo blankly stared at her Grandma's open and close mouth, not hearing the words after, yes, Grandma had previously said she would go to enroll.
Enroll? Enroll!
Song Yimo didn't care if she would startle Grandma, she scrambled straight to the bathroom.
"Without wearing shoes..."
Looking at the dull face in the mirror, Song Yimo couldn't help but raise her hand to touch it. This was certainly her face. But this firm, tender, and collagen-filled face was only eligible for puberty. She, at twenty-six, had been a long distance away from puberty.
Her height had not much changed, she only grew a centimeter from fifteen years of high school to the following ten years, never managed to reach a height of 1.6 metres.
But, she just slept, how could she sleep back to her youth?
Was this a dream or reality?
She pinched herself hard, the fair face instantly turned red, it hurt a lot.
This was not a dream!
"Momo, quickly put on your shoes, what's with all this commotion." The elderly muttered, placing the shoes next to her and patting her foot to signal her to lift it.
"Grandma!"
"Hmm?"
"Grandma!"
"Hmm? What's wrong?" The elderly woman raised her head to look at her granddaughter, finding her behavior rather odd today. Could it be that she had encountered something unclean?
"Grandma!"
"Hey, hey, grandma's here, Mo, don't scare your grandma! Why are you crying all of a sudden? What happened this morning?"
Song Yimo was overjoyed, crying and laughing at the same time, clinging to the old woman's neck, "I'm fine, grandma, I'm fine. I'm just too happy."
"Happy and crying? Are you sure you're okay? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"No, no, I'm really happy, grandma, I'm so happy I could die! Check if my heart is thumping."
The old woman patted her hand and couldn't help laughing, "If your heart wasn't thumping, we'd have a problem. Alright, go wash up and eat, hurry up and register, if you're late it'll be hot, crowded, and uncomfortable."
"Ah, got it, grandma."
Song Yimo couldn't stop smiling. As soon as her grandmother left, she covered her face with the wash towel and laughed crazily for a while. When she raised her head, her face was still slightly wet.
She didn't care what was happening. If this was a dream, then she would rather not wake up at all. As long as her grandmother was by her side, nothing else mattered!
