"Get lost!"
"Get out of this house immediately! Now! At once!"
It was raining cats and dogs outside. A tall and burly man picked up the frail girl who was wearing little clothes and looked no more than four years of age with one hand. He then tossed her towards the entrance violently.
"Dad, it wasn't me. I didn't ruin mom's clothes."
Lulu was drenched as she was thrown out into the rain. She looked up at the man with tears and denied stubbornly, "I didn't do it. It wasn't me..."
"Hah, still not admitting it are you? Apologize this instant! And don't you dare call me Dad. I don't have a daughter like you. You're bad luck!" The man was furious and slapped Lulu across her face. She was flung into the pile of rocks at the roadside.
Lulu became unconscious after smashing into the rocks.
The man did not notice it and continued cursing at her.
"Hmph! Your master said you would prosper my family and business if I kept you with me. But what did I get? Only lies! You are nothing but trouble! You've brought me nothing but misfortune!"
“It has been two years! You guys have deceived me for two years! How dare you still act so stubbornly and unrepentant!”
“Scram! Get out of my house right away!”
Two and a half years ago, the man spent a lot of money seeking fortune-telling from a master. The master deduced that his one-year-old disciple would be the lucky charm for the man's family and change the family's fortune. So the man even took risks to steal Lulu from another city.
In the following two years, the man's wealth increased tremendously and his company became publicly listed.
However, the family staying next door to his had become the richest in Slovenia within two short years. How could he be satisfied with this?
He was envious! Why wasn't he the wealthiest man in Slovenia?
As the man was envious of his neighbors and was filled with resentment, he vented all his anger on Lulu. Until a few days ago, he found out that Lulu was not the lucky charm who would prosper him!
That was the last straw!
He knew that Lulu did not ruin his wife's clothes. But who cared? He wanted her gone!
He refused to feed a useless person any longer!
After the man finished yelling, he slammed the door shut.
He did not even spare a glance at Lulu who lay on the ground, unconscious.
......
"Honey, is that a child up ahead?"
In the evening, as the heavy rain began to let up, a Maybach approached the area. Athena Allsop, who was in the passenger seat, noticed the girl in ragged clothes lying by the side of the road amongst the scattered rocks.
"Huh? A child?"
Upon hearing his wife, Robert Allsop parked the car immediately. He then strode over to the girl with Athena while holding an umbrella.
"Hey, isn't this Lulu who lives next door to us?"
"From next door?"
"Yeah. You have not met her, but I did once. The girl even greeted me." Athena urged as she looked with concern at Lulu who was unconscious, "Let's get her to the car and to the hospital quickly."
The Allsop family lived next to the Amsden family. It was only right that neighbors looked after each other.
But the Amsden family visibly disliked the Allsop family. Whenever the two families bumped into each other at the entrance or anywhere else, the Amsden family was always arrogant and looked at the Allsop family in disdain.
Athena had seen Lulu in the yard next door when she was playing her violin on the balcony. At the time, Lulu was working in the garden while staying in the garden shed. Lulu looked at her with eyes filled with admiration.
Athena thought that Lulu was a servant's child since she was working and took pity on her. So she even played a song for Lulu.
Yet now, the child was lying here, unconscious, and nobody knew what had happened.
