EVELYNE’S POV.
“ What's your status, O’ Connor?” A grumpy voice spoke from the earbuds which were attached to my ear while I stared down at the Beautiful lights of the city.
“ He's coming up right now.” I responded while staring at the transparent elevator in which a man was in with his girls.
“ Now is your chance.” He added coldly and I smirked before jumping off the terrace and landed in a room of a hotel which was opposite the target's room.
I placed the backpack on the table and carefully took out a Barrett MRAD and effortlessly assembled it with a smile plastered on my face.
He was probably having fun with his girls and just as I predicted they'd opened the curtains just big enough for me to see my target.
“ Take a shot.” The voice spoke once again but I simply ignored him as I stayed hidden and waited patiently for my target and took a shot when I got a clean shot of him.
Soon the screams of the ladies could be heard as I giggled happily and hurriedly picked up the backpack and hastily got out of the room and headed for the elevator.
I immediately changed my clothes as soon as I got into the elevator and climbed into the vent to hide the rifle and walked out of the elevator wearing a uniform which was the hotel's and walked through the ground floor of the building and went towards the door which led to the staircase and took it to the tenth floor where the deadman was.
He'd something of ours that I needed to retrieve before the police got a hold of it.
Once I'd gotten to his floor, I quickly placed a signal jammer on the elevator door to buy me some time before the girls got to the ground floor.
“ You've got 5 minutes to retrieve the file and leave.” The man instructed as I stepped into the presidential suite and walked straight to the bedroom where the lifeless body of the Assemblyman laid and picked up the black briefcase which held vital information.
He'd died because he knew too much and was planning on selling information on the Organization to an outsider.
The briefcase opened up with a ‘click’ and I took out the documents which were marked ‘classified’ but just when I was about to leave something caught my attention.
“Baker.” I mumbled with a low voice as I stared down at the file which had a picture of me as a little kid attached to it alongside a picture of a couple.
“ What are you waiting for, soldier?” The man on the other side barked and I immediately snapped out of it but I couldn't take my mind off what I just saw so I quietly took pictures of the file so I could take a better look at it later.
“ On it.” I muttered and headed for the door immediately.
“ You've got two minutes to get out of there.” he reminded me as I took off the device stopping the elevator from working and made it to the fire exit immediately.
My smile brightened as I walked out of the building while the sound of sirens filled the air.
I found a black SUV parked at the other side of the street and got into it.
“ Did you get the documents?” The man at the driver's side asked and I handed him the documents even though I was dying to ask a question about.
“ These are classified documents of the organization and I'm sure you know what that means?” It was pretty obvious he'd a suspicion but kept a stoic face.
“ Understood.”
“ Good job, Lieutenant.” He praised why staring at me weirdly and I stepped out of the car once my job was done and headed towards my motorbike which was parked somewhere around the block.
I got on it and put on my helmet before zooming off leaving behind nothing but dust.
..
I lived in a gated community which was highly guarded and only the rich could afford such a place.
Pulled up at the garage of my condominium and unhurriedly walked inside my apartment.
I headed straight for the wine bar and picked up a bottle of whiskey to celebrate with.
I did my tiny dance as I turned on the TV and sure enough the news of Assemblyman Lee's death was all over the place and of course I'm still a wanted criminal.
“ Did you all a favor.” I scoffed while staring intently at the TV.
He was simply a prick who deserves to die, I simply got rid of their trash..
Threw myself on the couch as I took one big gulp from the bottle in my hand and didn't bother taking off my clothes.
My apartment was a mess as I barely had time to take out the trash.
My name is Evelyn and I work for an organization which specializes in weaponizing young girls into deadly Assassins and assets for the big shots who want to clean up messes.
I snapped out of my thoughts when my watch began beeping once again which meant I'd another assignment and this made me frown because I wasn't supposed to take up another job the same day as the others.
I decided not to think about it and looked up everything I needed to know about this new job as I picked up my laptop and went skimming through the email sent to me but to my surprise there wasn't any much information on the said client.
“ What?” I mumbled to myself and soon my phone began buzzing.
“ Ready for your next assignment?” The man whose identity I never knew as it was a rule set by the organization, spoke from the other side.
“ Don't you think it's too sudden? We were told never to draw too much attention.” I reminded him without trying to sound rude.
“ This is an important mission and you know what happens if you fail.” He sternly reminded me of what was going to happen if I'd failed to carry the operation.
“ But-” he hung up before I could say anything else and I heaved a sigh while staring at the TV.
I couldn't take my mind off the documents from earlier so I decided to look at the pictures I took but a deep frown settled on my forehead when I realized that the couple were my biological parents.
My lips parted in shock as I thought of the possibility of them being alive.
I was happy and confused at the same time.
I was yet to understand why the organization had lied about it.
I ran my fingers through my hair as I tried to think rationally but unfortunately some things just didn't add up and I knew I needed answers from HQ.
“ Calm down, Eve you've got this.” I whispered as I took deep breaths before peeling off the pile of clothes clinging to my body revealing the ugly scar which was covered with a tattoo as I lazily stood under the shower.
I was having a bad feeling about this particular mission but shrugged off the uneasy feeling.
Once I was done getting ready, I decided to go through the information once again.
“ TK group.” I mumbled as I stared at the gigantic building in front of me and adjusted my cap as I headed towards the entrance of the hotel which was own by TK group and headed for the elevator which took me to the tenth floor of the building and I casually walked out of the elevator and headed for the equipment room and came out shortly dressed as an employee and headed towards room ‘357’
Finally I arrived at room 357’ and knocked while holding a tray and hand towel.
“ Room service.” I mumbled with a sweet voice but unfortunately I got no response so I decided to try one more time but the door was pulled open and I quietly walked in while on guard but to my greatest surprise It was actually a kid.
A freaking kid!
I quickly lowered my weapon as I looked at the harmless kid.
“ Are you alone?” I asked with a frown and he nodded innocently and I heaved a sigh and hid my gun behind me.
“ Am I in trouble?”he asked curiously and I shook my head negatively and forced a smile.
There was absolutely no way I was going to kill a kid.
He was a kid who was probably 8 years old.
I looked around the room curiously and found a shelf where a few documents were and I began going through them immediately when I stumbled upon a familiar document and stepped back
immediately with a palm pressed against my lips.
I turned to the kid and scrunched down to his level so I could ask him a few questions.
“ What's your name?” I asked, still shakened from what I'd seen , if only I knew.
“ Louis Dexter.” He innocently spoke and my eyes widened in surprise as realization dawned on me but before I could duck, I was suddenly incapacitated by a taser.
It was a trap!
I glanced over at the once innocent kid but his expression had changed into a devilish grin.
The organization was built on lies and deceit.
“ Take her away.”
