"Ms. Higgins, given your condition, you still have time to do chemotherapy. I highly suggest you do it earlier."

At a private hospital in Oakburg.

Astrea Higgins held the diagnosis, as pale as a ghost. She didn't expect that she would have cancer at this time.

However, she couldn't do chemotherapy because she must get pregnant...

Thinking of this, she asked the doctor, "When can I start my fertility shots arranged before?"

The doctor sighed, "I meant to talk to you about that. The fertility shot is a hormone that will stimulate your cancer cells' growth. Besides, we have given you shots for the past six months, but it didn't help. You'd better give up."

Astrea wobbled. Those words, like thunder strikes, stuck with her for so long.

The doctor quickly helped her up and hastened to ask, "Ms. Higgins, are you all right?"

Astrea waved her hand and stood up straight. "I'm fine... Please get on with the needles."

The doctor hesitantly said, "But... Why? It's not wise for pregnancy now. Even if you are pregnant, the chance of its survival is low."

Astrea insisted. "I'd like to give it a try. Please."

The doctor shook his head with a sigh and said, "Since you insist, I'll help you. Just like before, it will give you the best chances of a successful pregnancy within 24 hours. Remember not to miss it."

Astrea nodded. "Thank you."

By the time Astrea returned home from the hospital, it was already nine o'clock in the evening.

There was no one in the large villa.

From then on, he rarely came back. Astrea had been used to being alone at home.

After a long silence, Astrea finally dialed the number she had known by heart, but no one answered.

She repeatedly redialed. When she made the ninth call, the phone was finally connected.

Astrea's eyes instantly lit up, and she said with a lump in her throat, "Orion..."

Hearing Astrea's voice, Orion Brennan frowned. "What? I'll hang up if nothing else," said he.

His icy tone made Astrea's heartache.

Fighting back the tears, she said in a normal tone, "I... agree to the divorce."

After silence for two seconds, Orion asked, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, but I have a condition. You must come back to be with me tonight."

Orion sneered. "What's your game this time?"

His sharp voice cut into her heart like a knife.

Astrea took a deep breath and said slowly, "Believe whatever you want. But this is your only chance to get rid of me. If you don't come, Chelsea Marsh will never be acknowledged."

She didn't want to force him. She was just betting whether Orion would come.

In Astrea's book, he was willing to do anything for Chelsea.

Astrea slowly got up and sat in front of the dressing table. Looking at her pale face in the mirror, she laughed at herself.

She supposed Orion would hate her more if he saw her like that.

She picked up the red lipstick and put it on to add some color to her lips.

Astrea was a natural beauty and pretty with a bare-faced look. Only light makeup would make her more charming.

She looked out of the window sadly. The star brought back beautiful memories for her.

Once, they slipped out of their home in the middle of the night and snuggled up to each other under the starry sky.

Once, they had a child who looked a lot like him.

But now, things would never be the same again. One of their children was in danger in the ICU. She must use another child's blood to treat him.

Orion was Astrea's last hope. She would be in total despair if he didn't come home.

While deep in thought, she heard the door unlocking at the entrance.

"Orion is back!" Astrea thought excitedly.

When Astrea was about to walk out of the bedroom to greet him, she felt a strong push on her shoulder, and she was pressed against the wall.

The familiar scent mixed with the strong smell of alcohol made her heart tremble.

A cold feeling came from beneath her. Lifting her legs high, he came inside her without foreplay.
