Fire, surging fire, sweeps over her body, extinguishing her will. The undercurrent, akin to frightening waves, washes over her in endless succession.

"Save me...Who can save me..." She moans helplessly.

Out of the shadows, she only sees a hint of coldness entering the room. Like a fish out of water, she desperately clings to it.

She blossoms in the spring, with only the man's sweat visible in the faint light.

Xu Yunyan screams and opens her eyes, staring at the blazing light outside the window, subconsciously stroking her swollen abdomen.

Again, the dream of that night's downfall, the pain blooming into a splendid rose!

She gets dressed and slowly walks outside.

Accidentally turning behind the artificial hill, she suddenly hears alluring laughs coming from behind.

Just as she prepares to leave, a man's voice sounds, "Fenfen, you are truly flavorful!"

Hearing that voice, she's shocked, standing still like she's been struck by lightning!

The man is none other than Pei Yichang, her betrothed fiance whom she recently got engaged with! And as for Fenfen--

Pei Yichang grasped her and dragged her to the basement.

He flung her to the cold floor, and took out a heavy medical box from the vehicle.

Opening the box, he brought out a bright scalpel.

"What are you going to do?" Xu Yunyan asked in terror.

The scalpel flashed a chilling light as it caught her eyes, akin to the sinister smile at the corner of his mouth.

He took his time to wipe the scalpel, and Qin Xianfen spoke to answer her question, "We will remove the fetus from your belly to save my biological daughter!"

Qin Xianfen's biological daughter, whom she mentioned, was Xu Yunyan's half-sister Qin Xiyu from the same father. She had a poor health since childhood, and had been relying on medication to carry on.

She had heard somewhere that the umbilical cord blood of a relative had therapeutic properties to treat her sick daughter. To save her daughter and to seize the shares from Xu Yunyan, she had conspired with Pei Yichang to drug Xu Yunyan's drink eight months ago!

Xu Yunyan quickly realized, as a bone-chilling coldness crept over her skin.

The surgeon's scalpel traced her body, as if outlining her figure. Finally, it halted on her belly.

She grabbed his arm, pleading in pain, "Please...Please don't hurt my child...whatever you want...I'll give you..."

Pei Yichang responded with a cold sneer, "I intended to show some mercy, yet you plead for this illegitimate child! Don't blame me for being merciless then!"

Before his words fell, the scalpel unmercifully sliced across her belly!

"Ah!", she screamed in agony.

Blood sprayed, he, like a ghost from hell, and she, floundering at death's door, beyond salvation!

Even so, he continued to torment her with a cruel smile, delivering a fatal blow, "Know what? Before leaving the house today, I told your mother the truth about your pregnancy. She didn't expect her so-called obedient daughter to be so promiscuous and she checked into the hospital out of indignation! By this time, the person I sent has possibly accomplished the task!"

As he spoke, his phone rang. He held the phone up to her face, a sinister glint flashing in his eyes, "You can go to the underworld together; you won't be lonely! All the wealth will belong to us!"

Xu Yunyan looked at the photo on the phone, only to see her mother lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

She opened her empty eyes wide, bursting into tears of despair.

During her heart-wrenching spasms, she passed out.

In a daze, she faintly heard a baby's crying.

And clear male voice, "Yunyan! Yunyan!"

Her childhood friend Ning Rufeng had come to her rescue, and a weak infant was by her side.

"Hold on, I'll take you away!"

Immediately following that, Xu Yunyan's vision darkened, and she couldn't see anything at all!
