Early in the morning, the alarm on the mobile phone rings.
Zhao Yisheng, dazed and confused, reaches out for her phone to shut it off. Intending to sleep a bit more, she turns over only to roll into a chest.
Sniffing the cold male scent, Zhao Yisheng slowly awakens, recalling that she moved into Lu Shi's apartment half a year ago.
Looking up, she sees the man’s cold and stern features.
Perhaps due to lack of rest in the past few days, the man has faint dark circles beneath his eyes. His thin lips are pursed even while asleep, yet still exuding an air of elegance.
Staring at the man, she becomes slightly entranced. Unable to resist, she traces his thin lips with her finger, cautiously, afraid of waking him up. Her eyes hold a craving and gentleness.
The man seems to sense something, and in the next second, he opens his eyes — deep and dark.
"Morning."
His voice is slightly hoarse, carrying a hinted satisfaction, as a presumably guilty Zhao Yisheng hurriedly withdraws her hand, her face turning a bashful shade of red. "You...you're awake? I…I’ll go make breakfast…Mmm!”
She doesn’t get to finish her sentence before her lips are kissed.
His hand, covered with a thin layer of callus, roams on her tender skin, sending shivers down her spine at his every touch.
They have been together for more than half a year and both are very familiar with each other's bodies. Zhao Yisheng, not good at rejecting, forgets to get up from his passionate kiss.
Her hands tightly grasp his shoulders, reveling in this blissful moment.
…
It wasn't until half past eight that Zhao Yisheng truly manages to get out of bed. She is a bit sore all over. The thought of having to make breakfast sends her hurriedly scrambling for clothes from the wardrobe. Seeing the marks on her arms from his kisses, her face blushes again and again.
"It looks like it might rain today. Maybe wear capris instead?" Lu Shi Yi emerged from the bathroom after his shower to see Zhao Yi Shen attempting to slip into a bodycon dress and he couldn't help but to remind her, "It's also getting colder."
The man was tall, standing at about 188 cm. His bare chest did not bear an ounce of unnecessary fat as he wore a loosely-fitted white bath towel around his waist. He looked so aesthetically pleasing.
While Zhao Yi Shen has seen him like this many times, she still blushed at the sight and quickly turned around to change her outfit.
Upon noticing the love bite on her arm, she murmured while changing into her clothes, "I told you to be careful. You never listen. These love bites take days to disappear. What if someone saw it?"
"Didn't I pay attention?" Lu Shi Yi said mockingly, "At least there isn't any on your neck."
Zhao Yi Shen: "......"
After Zhao Yi Shen's grooming was done and she was about to go prepare breakfast, she found that Lu Shi Yi had already started kitchen duties. The dining table was filled with freshly ground soy milk and fried eggs. The sight of the man engrossed in his chores made her feel slightly distracted.
Six months ago, when her mother was diagnosed with pneumonia, Zhao Yi Shen had no choice but to return to China. She found a new job there and when she received a notification about a class reunion, she decided to attend since she had no other plans.
Unexpectedly, Lu Shi Yi, a man who always favored solitude and wasn't one for such activities, showed up.
Since an incident, she had hastily left the country and only returned after three years. She ran into Lu Shi Yi at the reunion, and feelings suppressed in her heart erupted like a wild weed. Seeing him sitting alone in the corner, she couldn't help but go over to start a conversation.
They ended up kissing, aided perhaps by the alcohol, and one thing led to the other, and then Lu Shi Yi handed her the key to his apartment and she moved in.
"Why are you standing there?" asked Lu Shi Yi, walking out of the kitchen with a plate of food. Seeing Zhao Yi Shen standing there lost in thought, he asked, "You start work at 9:30. If you don't eat breakfast now, you're going to be late."
That's when Zhao Yi Shen came out of her thoughts and sat down at the dining table.
Lu Shi Yi handed her a piece of toast and said, "There's a cocktail party tonight. I won't be coming back for dinner. You can make less and don't wait up for me."
"Okay," Zhao Yi Shen responded, her voice a bit low and a hint of sadness in her heart.
For the past six months, she had been living with Lu Shi Yi in his house playing the role of a girlfriend, managing the household chores like a homemaker. Yet, Lu Shi Yi has never defined their relationship.
While Lu Shi Yi was good to her, sometimes accompanying her for shopping or cooking for her when she was busy, he never took her to any parties, let alone introduce her to his friends.
