After a car accident, Faith Waters began leading a new life in a novel.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw a pair of cold eyes staring right back at her.
The man's facial features were cold but unrealistically perfect. His gaze trapped her with fear. He slightly opened his thin lips and warned her in a stern voice, "Faith, it doesn't matter to me if you wish to take your own life, but if you decide to do so, do it properly!"
The man's voice gave Faith goosebumps.
All of a sudden, the main plot of the novel came to her mind. It had been abandoned by the author before its completion.
The male protagonist, Sean Nicholls, was blessed by the gods. In other words, he was beyond talented in every aspect. His biological brother, Harvey Nicholls, envied his talent. In order to compete for the Nicholls Group, Harvey plotted a car accident that rid the male protagonist of the mobility of his legs.
Their parents favored Harvey, who was a sweet talker. When the male lead suffered a serious trauma due to the accident, his parents did nothing but send him to a psychologist.
Later, they handed over the management of the family business, which was initially meant for Sean, to Harvey. All that was left for Sean was a fairly deserted shopping mall.
When Sean was 28 years old, his parents pushed the marriage that Harvey had refused onto Sean. However, his marriage partner, Faith, was suicidal.
Before the wedding, Faith had thought that she would get married to Harvey, especially after the numerous love confessions she had received in public. On the day of her wedding, she discovered the truth and jumped off the building. After recovering from her injuries, she returned to the Nicholls House and continued to live her life with disdain.
Their marriage was nothing but a farce. The male lead was disabled, and his wife was nothing but a cannon fodder who could be disposed of at any time. Their marriage was pointless.
In the process of plotting his revenge on the world, the male lead met the gentle, lovely female lead who shone light into his life.
However, before the story could progress, the author abandoned the book.
In a short minute, Faith reviewed the plot in her head and realized that she had become Faith Waters who coincidentally shared the same name as her.
At present, the plot had already begun. Sean and Faith were already married, and Faith was in the middle of her first suicide attempt. On the day of the marriage, she tried to end the marriage by leaping off a building.
Upon coming to the realization, Faith choked uncontrollably.
It seemed that she had nearly escaped death once again!
Her eyes returned to the man in the wheelchair.
Without a doubt, he was the male protagonist of the book, Sean Nicholls. His legs had already recovered, and he had a net worth of more than a billion dollars.
She had to admit that the man in front of her was extremely breathtaking. He was indeed a wealthy man. He had a perfectly-sculptured nose and thin lips. His temperament was cold and reserved, but his eyes were stern.
The doctor followed Sean and explained about Faith's condition. It seemed that Faith had been careless, and she was allowed to be discharged from the hospital after half a month's recuperation.
Sean tapped the wheelchair armrest with his fingertips, visibly annoyed. "Got it."
The doctor breathed out a sigh of relief and turned to leave. Suddenly, he turned his gaze back to Faith with a trace of ridicule and indifference in his eyes.
"Anyone who jumps from the second floor will land on the ground head-first. For someone like you, jumping into the bushes would only end up disfiguring yourself."
Faith raised her hand to touch her face. It was smooth without any scars or blemishes.
She sighed and looked at the doctor with a faint smile, "I'm fine for now, I guess."
Seeing her reaction, Sean's eyes sank a little more as he snapped, "Next time when you attempt to do something like this again, I suggest that you do it properly!"
The man's voice was cold, sending a chill down Faith's back. She replied, "There won't be a "next time"."
The sneer on Sean's face disappeared.
Ultimately, it was her decision.
"You should make up your mind."
......
Half a month later, Faith was discharged from the hospital.
It was March, the season of spring. The flowers bloomed, and nature was full of liveliness.
Across a black fence, Faith gazed at the Nicholls House that was separated by a wall. In the courtyard, there was a brilliant cherry blossom tree in full bloom.
Her pale face was stunning and charming as she stared at the flowers in a daze.
Despite the beautiful scenery, the house could only be equated to a battlefield.
