"Get out of the car!"

It was a rainy winter night and it was bone-chillingly cold. 

"Let me go!"

Carlie was pulled out of the car by two strong men, her head was covered with a black cloth. She pushed and staggered out of the car.

She was kidnapped!

Just as she was thinking of a way to escape, the person beside her suddenly said, "Mr. Adams, she's here!"

"Mr. Adams?"

Carlie's body stiffened. She was slightly confused for a moment, then someone pulled the black cloth off her head.

The cold wind blew her hair all over her face!

It was very dark all around, but with the help of the dimly lit street light, she could still see the man standing under the black umbrella in front of her.

It was a very familiar face!

That was because the man standing in front of her was her husband!

"Jeremy!"

She was glad to see him because she had a surprise for him...

He sneered. A cold laugh escaped from his lips as he said, "Wow, you're such a good actress!"

A good actress?

Carlie was slightly confused. "Wait, what do you mean? What did I do?"

It was in this moment that Carlie suddenly realised that he had send someone to kidnap her.

"Did you send them to kidnap me?"

Jeremy did not say anything, but his eyes were frighteningly gloomy!

A gust of cold wind blew past, causing Carlie, who only had a layer of clothing on, to shiver!

It was dark all around, but with the help of the car lights, she realised where she was currently at!

She was currently at the graveyard!

It was so late at night. Why did Jeremy bring her to the graveyard?

Could it be...

Today was that woman's birthday!

Every year, no matter how busy he was, he would come and pay his respects!

"Why did you bring me here? Why did you bring your wife to visit your ex-lover's grave? Is this your new meaning of a date?"

Jeremy did not say a word. He glared at her, turned around, and went up the stairs!

Carlie's arms were tied behind her back. The two strong men standing beside her seemed to have received a silent order. They grabbed her arm and nudged her forward!

After a few muffled sounds of thunder, it started pouring heavily!

The winter night was already terribly dark. What's more, they brought her here to a cemetery on a cold rainy night!

However, no matter how dark it was, even if Carlie did not have a flashlight, she could still see the outline of the tombstone in the darkness. That was because it was decorated with flowers!

It was like this every year!

The tombstone was decorated with orchids!

It was her favourite flower!

He had spent a lot of money importing it from overseas!

But during their three years of marriage, he had never given her any gifts!

Soon, they arrived in front of the tombstone!

Jeremy lowered his head and remained silent for a long time. Then, he turned his head and looked at her with disgust.

The two men standing beside her quickly brought her to the front.

What was he trying to do?

"Kneel down!"

"What?" Carlie raised her head stubbornly, her eyes filled with pain. "You want me to kneel down in front of her tomb? What for?"

Was she incomparable to that woman?

"What's wrong?" He narrowed his eyes and looked at her. "Do you think I am a fool? Do you think I have no idea what's going on?"

"What did I do?"

If it weren't for the fact that her hands were tied up, she would have rushed forward, stripped him of his clothes to check if his heart was made of stone!

They have been married for three years and she tried her best to be kind to him. How could he not sense it?

He sneered at her again. He was wearing a pair of black leather gloves. He took out a stack of photos from his pocket and threw them at Carlie's face.

The photos scattered all over the floor!

Carlie could not care less about his actions. She lowered her head, trying to take advantage of the minimal lighting to see what was on it!

What on earth did she do?

"Bang..."

Someone kicked her hard in the back of her knee...

The pain of her knees crashing heavily on cold tombstone quickly spread to her limbs and bones!

She knew that Jeremy despised her!

However, she did not expect... that he hated her to such an extent!

The pain and sadness in her heart forced the tears to spill out of her eyes.

She clenched her fists tightly and dug her nails into her flesh. She gritted her teeth and straightened up, ignoring the pain in her body. With the help of the flashlight, she saw the contents of the photo clearly.

She was shocked!

"Please, let me explain! It's not what you think it is. I met him just because I wanted to understand..."

"She's already dead. Do you think I will give you another chance?"

His hands, which were covered with leather gloves, were clenched into fists.

Carlie had no doubt that if she angered him again, he would punch her in the face!

In the dim light, she could tell that his jaw was clenched, but he simply stared at the tombstone in front of him quietly. He did not even care to see how much pain she was in as she knelt on the ground!

He would do anything for the person he liked!

This man had never treated her kindly before!

She felt as if something was weighing on her chest, making it hard for her to breathe!

Was he unwilling to give up?

Yes!

In the blink of an eye, twelve years had passed. Now, she knelt down in front of the tombstone of her husband's ex-lover!

For the most of her life, she had been thinking about the man in front of her!

"Do you really hate me so much that you are not even willing to give me a chance to explain myself?"

"So you can make up an excuse?" Jeremy slowly turned his head. "Carlie, do you think I really want to keep you around?"

"I've had these photos for a long time!" He sneered coldly. "But do you know why I chose today?"

She had no idea!

"You haven't been home for a long time, have you? Do you have any idea what happened to the Russell family?"

Carlie, who was kneeling on the ground, stiffened. She stared at him with wide eyes in horror!

"What do you mean?" Carlie was not stupid. "What did you do to my family?"

"Oh, nothing much. I just used the same dirty tricks that you used on them!"

What on earth did he do?

"If you live to see tomorrow, then you might be able to hear the news about the Russell family's bankruptcy. Oh, right, I forgot to tell you something..."
