Introduction
Although my fiance Preston promised to marry me, he actually loved his girlfriend Michelle, a beautiful dancer. I was accused of attempted murder, and Preston believed that the car accident that broke Michelle's legs was conspired by me. He broke my leg for revenge and then sent me to prison. Two years later, I was released. I met Preston again. But he wanted to give me more punishment. He sent me to the club and asked me to be a slave. Blinded to the truth, Preston wouldn't forgive me. Till one day, Preston unexpectedly locked me in one suite with him and started to kiss me madly. Michelle broke in. "Why are you with this murderer, Preston?" Michelle asked. "Why don't you tell us what exactly happened two years ago, Michelle?" I yelled.

"Preston... I didn't mean to. Oh please, you have to believe me."

Inside the villa, Darcey Francis was kneeling down on the ground, and her face was as white as a sheet.

She couldn't tell the facial expression of the man on the sofa since the lights were not turned on. She could only see the faint fading gleam from the cigarette between his fingers.

In that tense atmosphere, she felt like she was waiting for a judgment to sentenced upon her.

She lowered her head and stared at her own fingers, which were still stained with Michelle Cole's blood. By that time, the blood had already completely dried up. The stain was exactly the evidence of what she had done to Michelle.

After some time, this man finally stood up and approached her slowly.

"Darcey Francis, there is always a consequence to everything you do. Michelle's legs were saved but she could no longer dance. But you... Do you really think I'd let you get away with it?"

His gloomy and dull voice made her heart beat faster.

With the help of some moonlight, she faintly saw him weighing a golf club in his hand.

"I mentioned before, that as long as you are obedient, I will marry you, but why are you trying to cause so much trouble and hurt Michelle? Huh?"

As soon as he finished his words, the club dropped and hit straight on her shin bone.

"Ouch!"

The full force he used had made her suffered from the worst pain she had ever had.

"Preston... I didn't..."

The pain on her left leg was bone-piercing and she stepped back a little as she was terrified. However, she couldn't move much because of the extreme pain she experienced.

As Preston threw away the crooked golf club, he coldly looked at her, who was struggling in agony, "Darcey, that was for Michelle. I won't kill you now, but remember, it's not over yet."

She could not help but hug herself tightly, and her body was just trembling uncontrollably.

Her eyelids grew heavy and everything was gradually turning dark. Right before she passed out, she faintly saw him picking up the phone and dialed. "Tell the Francis, A nod from me and Darcey would be arrested for attempted murder. Darcey or their company, choose one."

Darcey chuckled. "I'm so tired of this," she thought. "Is it better if I die? Is that what everyone wants?"

Two years later...

In the cold winter, finally, City B had its very first snow.

The gate of the eastern suburb was already opened early in the morning.

A thin woman walked out slowly from the gate, probably because she had some problems with her legs.

Under a heavy snowstorm, the woman raised her head. Despite the scars on her face, and the deep or shallow bruises on it, she still looked young and elegant.

In this kind of weather, there weren't buses at the bus stations often. Compared to the usual one hour, now people need to wait for two to three hours for the bus to come.

She was out of luck, just five minutes after she came out from the detention gate, she witnessed a bus just left the station.

So now she had to wait for about two to three more hours by the roadside.

Touching the chiffon shirt she was wearing, she frowned. And at the corner of her brow was a crescent-shaped scar.

It was still spring when she was sent into the detention center, she didn't expect it would be winter when she was released.

She stood under the bus stop sign while staring at the detention center opposite of her, which she was locked in for two years. There on the white wall, it was written, "Transform into a better person."

With that, she laughed all of a sudden.

She had been looking at these phrases countless times for the past two years. But really, after leaving this place, would she even have the chance to have a brand new life?

Her mind was all over the place until a bus reached the station. She rubbed her sore legs and got onto the bus.

At that moment, all she had was an old and outdated cell phone along with some of the coins from the kind prison guards who had blessed her with. After paying, she sat in the back seat silently.

This was the only bus that went from the city center to the prison, so there was only one passenger, Darcey. Along the way, she leans towards the window to get a good clear look at the outside world.

Two years, she never knew the city could actually change so much within just two years...
