On the Coral Island of F Nation, at ten-fifty in the afternoon, in a top-rated sea view room in the Royal Hostel.
A woman was casually lying on the sofa, watching television, her fingertips holding a glass of top-level grape wine. Her black, ruffled waves of hair languishing on one side, her slender, smooth legs exposed from under her gauzy skirt, slightly overlapped. Although without makeup, a captivating aura naturally manifested from her brows and eyes, seemingly capable of stealing one's soul.
Political news was about to be broadcast, but the woman had no interest. She turned off the television, her svelte figure unveiled beneath the thin gauze dress as she moved into the bathroom. She tested the water temperature in the bathtub, but as she just unbuttoned two buttons, the door suddenly burst open. Before she had a chance to turn around, a man’s scent was pouncing upon her as he rushed into the bathroom, directly carrying Su Jiu into the bathtub.
“Cover me!"
The water splashed about in the bathtub as a low, hoarse voice uttered two words. The man was lying on the bottom of the bathtub, forcing Su Jiu, who was directly on top of him. She instantly stood upright and yelled loudly, "Save....."
"Shut up. If you don't cooperate, I'll take you!"
The deep voice, tinged with a hint of ruthlessness, emanated from the man. His strength was overwhelming, to the point where she could feel him pressing against her.
Su Jiu immediately became silent, but her beautiful peach-blossom eyes were sternly fixed on the man.
Unbeknownst to her, her appearance at that moment was particularly alluring.
The man furrowed his brows, Su Jiu, sensitive by nature, felt an increasingly intense pressure coming from the place where the man was pressing against her. Her cheeks reddened instantly, with a swift move from the man, Su Jiu was turned around, her back against him.
And in this position, things became more suggestive.
Yet, she couldn't move.
The door was abruptly pushed open and several men in black stormed in. Su Jiu, already on edge, immediately snapped at them, "What are you barging in for? Do all the people in F Nation now enjoy peeping at women bathing?"
The men in black were so terrified that they immediately fled. The world-famous newscaster from A Nation, who was visiting the governor, was pretty indeed, but was known to have a sharp tongue. If offended, she might leave no stone unturned in criticizing the whole of F nation.
Seeing them leave, Su Jiu turned to address the man, "Hey, can you let me go... Mm!"
Before she had time to speak, his lips descended on hers. Su Jiu widened her eyes and instinctively resisted, her knee jabbing directly at his sensitive area. However, he skillfully trapped her legs around his waist, pushing her hands up against the wall. His posture was tantalizingly provocative.
His large hand instinctively slid down her waist, lifting her clothes and reaching inside.
Angered beyond bearing, Su Jiu bit firmly into his lips. A metallic taste permeated her mouth, and his blood red eyes restored their clarity, setting her free immediately.
“Rinse your mouth, spit it out!” he quickly ordered.
Those who touched his blood, none could survive.
However, Su Jiu was totally unaware of the danger to her own life. All she could think of was his forceful kiss. Swiftly, she slapped him.
“Shameless!”
Her voice was full of anger. Those black eyes staring at him, slightly misty, her hair dripping wet. Her thin gauze skirt clung tightly to her soaked body. It was so thin that it revealed her splendid charms to him without reservation.
However, the man didn’t seem to be attracted by her seductive body at all. He looked at her, his face blushing but otherwise, showed no signs of lust.
His deep gaze was inscrutable. The man didn’t say much, but presented a golden business card, “Take this, if you need help, call the number on it.”
Su Jiu glanced at it and forthrightly threw it out of the window, sarcastically saying, “This age, rogues like to pretend to be capable?”
So many people risked their lives to gain his promise, but she couldn’t care less.
“Take it.” Huangfu Jue took out another card, slipped it into the pocket of the clothes Su Jiu had set aside for changing, then strode out of the bathroom.
He didn’t fear Su Jiu blocking him. She was completely soaked. Trying to stop him would be like playing with fire.
Damn it!
The more Su Jiu thought about it, the more she felt annoyed. She locked the bathroom door, washing the same spot the man had kissed over and over again before she finally came out.
Her phone was vibrating, a call from Uncle Ye. Su Jiu frowned slightly, puzzled.
Uncle Ye was her father's trusted aide, who wouldn't normally call her.
As soon as Su Jiu picked up, Ye Haonan's anxious voice came through, "Miss, there's a big problem at the Su's. Your father just collapsed and has been taken to the hospital for emergency treatment!"
Su Jiu's body swayed uncontrollably for a moment, but she quickly calmed down. Her lips parted gently to speak, "Uncle Ye, I'll tell you my flight schedule later. You arrange for someone to pick me up and take me directly to the hospital."
"Alright."
With her card at hand, Su Jiu took her leave from the staff and rushed to the airport.
A-nation. Capital City.
Downtown Hospital.
Third floor.
Su Jiu went up by herself. The entire hallway was silent. She quickly moved across the long corridor and dashed to the ICU.
Through the small window, she saw her father lying in bed, hooked up to a lot of tubes, with the ECG beside him slowly pulsing.
In the face of life, he seemed so powerless. In her heart, her father had always been the invincible superhero and the support she could rely on for her life.
Su Jiu didn't utter a sound but just quietly watched the man in the ward. The sound of footsteps came from behind. Turning around, she saw two people approaching her.
Su Ke'er is still sporting her black bangs, wearing a white cotton dress, looking quiet and innocent, harmless.
However, it was her, her half-sister from the same father, standing right in front of her three years ago, hand in hand with the man she thought she could be with for a lifetime.
Su Jiu looked calmly at Su Ke'er, not paying attention to the man she was holding hands with.
"Sister, you're back," Su Ke'er said quietly, with a hint of suppressed joy in her voice.
Without exchanging pleasantries, Su Jiu asked directly, "What's the deal with the parkland?"
Su Ke'er bowed her head, and tears started falling, "Sister, I'm sorry, it's all my fault, I shouldn't have let Dad agree to Uncle to undertake this project, I never thought that Uncle would forcefully demolish it, causing loss of life..."
Su Jiu kept silent. Su Ke'er paused, and continued, "Sister, you should blame me, If I had been stronger, refused Uncle's request at the time, forgotten his kindness to me over the years, and been more selfish, things...things wouldn't have turned out this way."
Su Ke'er's voice got smaller, she stood there, head bowed while the tears kept falling, looking helpless, like a small white flower fluttering helplessly in the wind. Despite having made such a grave mistake, it was hard to reprimand her; it was almost like wanting to hold her gently in the palm of your hand to console, to protect, as if blaming her would only make oneself out to be the ultimate sinner.
