Imperial International Airport.
As an 18th-tier actress, Qin Sang never expected that she would face-plant in front of so many people. She touched her face; thankfully, her face mask hadn’t fallen off.
Before she could even stand up again, screams were ringing out.
“Oh my god! My love, I love you!”
“Here he comes!”
Fans and reporters lifted their cameras to take shots in the direction of the exit. Wearing sunglasses, international superstar Mu Mo Xiu was walking straight forward under the escort of his assistant and bodyguards, seemingly ignoring everything else.
Caught off-guard by the crowd again, Qin Sang was pushed backward to the ground. Then, all of a sudden, the noisy atmosphere fell into eeriness only to be replaced by a pair of feet slowly appeared in her view, wearing a designer brand leather boot. Looking up blankly, she found herself locking eyes with the man's gaze from behind his sunglasses.
His fair and angular face, curly hair on the forehead, taut jawline, and his indifferent eyes all suggested his current bad mood. She should know; she's got a good grasp of what his different expressions meant, given the years they've known each other.
As if possessed, she lifted the camera in her hand and stammered at the man, "Mu Mo Xiu, is the recent gossip about you and Yu Miao Zhen true?"
Her question sparked excitement among the fans. The man seemed to snort lightly and walked past Qin Sang without even sparing her an extra glance.
As Mu Mo Xiu left, the crowd followed him. Only then was she able to come back to her senses after standing still for what seemed like a long time. Alone in her disarray, she gave a wry smile.
What on earth just happened?
Lost and devastated, Qin Sang hailed a taxi. Just as she was about to take the ride, her phone rang. She answered the call.
"How did it go? Did you manage to interview anyone?" Ding Xi Tong's voice sounded somewhat excited.
Qin Sang felt a pang of embarrassment recalling the recent event. It made her want to crawl into a hole and disappear. Ding Xiantong’s questioning made her head hurt even more. "What do you think I could possibly interview him about? You know who Mu Moxiu is, don't you?”
Detecting the bitterness in Qin Sang's voice, Ding Xiantong tried to placate her with a flattering chuckle, "I really had no other choice but to send you in my place. Please consider it as a favor for me and my broken leg..."
All Qin Sang could do was agree, considering she had no other friends left.
After hanging up the phone, the thought of Mu Moxiu's sarcastic gaze cast a shadow over her mood, filling her heart with despair.
She touched her face and suddenly realized that her mask had fallen off at some point!
In the imperial city at midnight, all was silent.
Qin Sang woke up disoriented to the sound of running water coming from the bathroom He quickly sat up and stared in the direction of the bathroom, dumbfounded.
The sound of water abruptly stopped. She quickly lied down and pretended to be asleep.
A tall figure appeared from the bathroom, shirtless. He looked at the petite figure on the bed that had shifted positions. His deep eyes darkened.
Qin Sang’s eyes were closed, her heart pounding, as the mattress shifted with his weight, bringing a chill wind. After the man climbed into bed, all was quiet.
Just when Qin Sang thought the night would pass quietly, the man suddenly stated, "I'm curious when you switched careers to become a paparazzo?"
Qin Sang’s eyelashes quivered. After a moment's hesitation, she spoke, "Xiantong hurt her foot, so she asked me to take her place."
Ding Xiantong was a gossip reporter, also known in the industry as a paparazzo. Today, Mu Moxiu returned to the imperial city, but she had hurt her foot. So she pestered Qin Sang into stepping up.
"I've said it before, I don't want to be linked to you in public," he said coldly.
Qin Sang's heart clenched, her lips turning pale. She whispered, "It won't happen again."
The air hung still for half a minute before Qin Sang felt a sudden weight on her body. An icy hand touched her skin, causing her body to uncontrollably shiver slightly.
Her cheeks flushed, Qin Sang stared fixedly at the ceiling, her eyes wide. Though they were already married, she was still having trouble getting used to the reality. They were doing the most intimate things lovers do, yet their hearts felt worlds apart.
Yes, she and Mu Moxiu, the hot international superstar, had gotten their marriage certificate half a year ago.
A third-rate actress was now married to a talented international superstar with countless fans. On paper, these two people couldn't have been any more mismatched. Yet, they had become a true married couple. If this news were to ever get out, it would likely blow up the entire entertainment industry.
Even she herself could never have imagined ending up in this intricate relationship with this man again.
Qin Sang pondered in bitterness. However, the man noticed her distraction, bit her lips angrily as if to vent, causing her a burst of pain. What followed was a deeper intrusion as he kissed her. Unable to bear it, she gasped slightly, finally allowing herself to close her eyes and sink into their shared passion.
A sleepless night...
It wasn't until the afternoon of the next day, when the sunlight streaming in from the window stung her eyes, that she finally woke up.
Ignoring the soreness of her body, Qin Sang left the room and heard the sound of music coming from the glass room downstairs.
Descending the stairs, she observed the man absorbed in composing music in the glass room. Oddly enough, he had actually stayed home.
Just then, her phone rang. The caller was displayed as her manager.
"Qin Sang, you need to check Weibo's trending topics right away!"
