"So itchy..."
Estella Earwood was sleeping soundly when she suddenly felt like someone was kissing her.
She woke up with a start and saw a handsome man looking at her.
"Who are you?"
The man's deep voice sounded, "Estella, I'm your husband."
Estella was shocked. "Husband? Am I married?"
The man reached out. As she felt his fingers, she trembled slightly.
"What... are you doing?"
"Kiss you," said the man, a wicked grin spreading across his face. Without hesitation, he leaned in and sunk his teeth into her soft, plump lips with a savage force...
"No!" Estella raised her hand to resist.
Despite her objections, the man callously ignored her and assertively pushed her onto the bed.
"Ah... No!"
With a scream, Estella woke up from her dream.
In a sudden frenzy, Estella clutched at her chest and let out a gasp. But as she glanced around, all was calm and still. It was just a dream. She turned her head and caught sight of the man lying beside her, causing her heart to skip a beat.
The man looked the same as the person in her dream.
Upon seeing the scattered roses and the infusion bottle next to the man's hand, Estella eventually regained her composure.
She had yet to fully adapt to her new identity.
The man lying beside her was indeed her husband, Anthony Dempsey.
But he was a vegetable.
Three months ago, Anthony got into an accident and became a vegetable.
According to a fortune teller, his grandfather, Parker Dempsey, was informed that he would not wake up until he got married.
The Dempsey family paid the money to save Estella's sick younger sister, so Estella married Anthony out of gratitude.
It was already five o'clock in the morning. Estella took a deep breath and was ready to get up to wash her face to sober up.
At this time, there was a knock on the door.
She didn't overthink it. She thought it was Anthony's maid, so she opened the door.
Unexpectedly, it was Gilberto Dempsey, Anthony's cousin!
Her face immediately darkened.
Gilberto had pursued Estella and cared for her almost in every aspect. But when she was moved to say yes, she saw him sleeping with the most beautiful girl in the Department of Foreign Language!
Estella blocked all his contact information, but Gilberto asked his man to drive her sister out of the hospital and stop all hospitals from accepting her sister!
Her sister would have died if Parker hadn't offered help.
"What are you doing here?" she demanded, shooting him a withering glare.
"Estella," Gilberto's voice dripped with possessiveness and obsession, "you owe me an explanation for why you suddenly married Anthony." His eyes bore into hers, demanding an answer.
She said coldly, "There's nothing to say. You can go."
Estella attempted to close the door and force Gilberto out, but he forcefully shoved her inside. "Listen to me, Estella. Anthony is on his deathbed. Even if he passes away, Grandpa won't let you leave!"
"You are still young and beautiful. Is that what you want?"
Estella looked at him and said nothing. Gilberto pressed on, "You know that I love you more than anything else in this world. I won't abandon you, even though you've been married. If we work together and you help me get everything from Anthony, we can start a new life together."
Estella completely understood his purpose.
He was a two-faced jerk and even wanted to kill Anthony for money!
"Don't even consider it for a second! I won't help you!" Estella retorted, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Think about it again!" Gilberto approached her step by step.
As Estella took a step back, she accidentally bumped into the plate behind her, causing it to clatter to the ground.
Estella was startled and quickly grabbed a sharp piece of porcelain from the floor. Pointing it at Gilberto, she warned him, "Don't you dare come any closer! If you do, I'll call for help!"
She was about to call for help when she heard her mother-in-law's voice approaching. "Estella..."
Before Estella could react, Gilberto suddenly hugged her.
Estella fiercely struggled against Gilberto's grasp, trying to free herself. Just as she was about to scream for help, Gilberto whispered in her ear, "Go ahead, scream. Let your mother-in-law see what you're doing on the very first day of your marriage."
