At midnight, Mu Xiao set her copy of "The Red and the Black" aside, rubbing her slightly aching brows before lying down to sleep.
This was a habit she had formed a month ago, painstakingly reading "The Red and the Black" before going to sleep because it was after she finished reading this book one night that Tian Muchen had come back.
Ridiculous, isn't it? Despite wanting her husband to come home, she didn't dare to make a single call and instead, she pinned all her hopes on a book.
Mu Xiao felt hopelessly weak.
But she had no other choice. What difference did it make whether she made that call or not? He wouldn't come back anyway!
Just as Mu Xiao was beginning to drift off to sleep, she suddenly felt a heavy presence beside her. Her body shivered, and she was instantly roused from her slumber.
She turned her head and found her eyes wide open.
Despite the dim light, the aura emitting from the stranger's body was all too familiar to her.
Tian Muchen!
"Why have you come back?" Mu Xiao asked, surprised. Her voice was laced with a hint of joy.
The man did not respond. He began unbuttoning his shirt. Mu Xiao blushed and sat up nervously, "I...I'll get you a glass of water."
Before she could rise, Tian Muchen pressed her shoulders and pinned her beneath him.
His body heat was scorching. His bare chest against her body, and the hint of burning anger in his eyes, all served to increase Mu Xiao's panic.
Mu Xiao started trembling, recalling their last meeting. She tried to keep up a calm facade, "What...what are you trying to do?"
The man merely gave a cold hum, a scornful look in his eye. With his left hand weighing down on her, his right hand began unbuckling his belt.
"Sleep... with you!"
Upon hearing these two words, Mu Xiao's eyes widened in terror.
Scenes from that night flooded her mind like a torrent. Despite her resistance and struggle, Tian Muchen ruthlessly dominated her body. She was in so much pain, her whole body ached. She didn't want to experience that tearing agony a second time!
Instinctively, Mu Xiao tried to break free from his grasp.
But to Tian Muchen, her resistance was nothing more than lame punches and kicks. He easily overpowered her.
Holding on to Mu Xiao's jaw, Tian Muchen forced her to lift her chin. His eyes, cold and harsh, gazed at her fear-stricken face before he let out a contemptuous chuckle. A sharp pang of fear struck Mu Xiao’s heart.
Was he about to begin?
"Mu Xiao, stop pretending. Aren’t you just waiting for me to sleep with you every midnight?"
Boom!
Mu Xiao's mind blew up.
So he knew all along!
Seeing the complicated expression on her face, Tian Muchen smiled with satisfaction. His lips grazed her ear as he said each word distinctly, "You used this pitiful appearance to deceive my parents, didn't you? Pushed them to pressure me into coming back home, right?"
"No, I didn't!"
"Mu Xiao, I've seen plenty of women like you. You're the worst actress!"
"Muchen, I... Ah!"
Before Mu Xiao could say a word, Tian Muchen crudely tore off her clothes and mercilessly invaded her body...
They say that the love between a man and a woman is the sublimation of affection, a sort of enjoyment, but what Mu Xiao experienced during this process was pain!
Painful in body! Even more painful at heart!
After enduring such intense torment, Mu Xiao was out of her wits, her entire body quivering as though she were a sieve.
She descended into a seemingly endless sleep. When she woke up the next morning, she saw a man putting on his clothes in the fading dusk.
His movements were graceful and unruffled. However, if not for the pain in her body that felt like it had been torn apart, she might believe that last night had been nothing but a nightmare.
"What happened that night was an accident. Don't think you can use it as a threat over me! And, don't show up in front of me and bother me anymore!"
