Victoria

I was overjoyed when I received a text from Jack Storm, my fiancé, and the future Alpha of Storm pack.

He told me that he’d got a surprise waiting for me at his house. Today was my eighteenth birthday, the year I would finally marry him after obtaining my wolf.

My mother was a renowned Warrior Wolf. As her daughter, I held high expectations for getting my wolf easily in my transformation ritual tonight. I’ve never once failed to prove my strength!

With Jack, despite not being mates, our bond was unwavering, and I knew I could trust him with my heart. I would ultimately be his Luna, uniting our two packs.

So with a smile on my face, I entered his house. I could barely contain my excitement as I took in the fresh citrus scent of his sitting room, looking around to see if he was hiding anywhere.

That’s when I heard this strange sound coming from his room. It was his voice, he sounded so…pleased, but then I heard a woman’s voice and walked as fast as I could, barging into his room.

But nothing in this world could’ve prepared me for what I saw; Jack was sleeping with my stepsister, Lily!

At that moment, everything I had believed about my relationship with Jack crumbled to dust, leaving behind nothing but heartache and betrayal.

“What are you guys doing?” I shrieked in horror, my heart burning at the sight of their betrayal.

“Oh… Jack! Yes!!!” Lily gasped – as if I wasn’t just standing right there!

Their moans of ecstasy filled the room until they both finished, and then she said, “Oh Victoria, Happy birthday.”

She was still on top of him, naked, and panting like she’d just finished running a race. Her wicked green eyes lit up with malicious intent as she saw the pain in my eyes. She knew that yet again, she had succeeded in taking what was mine.

Jack just lay back on the bed, then he smirked and said, “What’s the matter babe? This isn’t a good surprise for you?”

“How could you do this to me, Jack? We’re getting engaged next week!” I asked as tears fell down my cheek, my voice barely even audible enough for even me to hear. I was expecting an explanation, but the two of them just looked at each other and started laughing.

“Com’on Vicky, it’s no big deal, it’s just sex,” he said as Lily finally got off of him.

“Yeah Victoria, it’s just sex. Get over it. However, since I’m the better sister in bed, I will please him even after your marriage,” Lily smirked, lying seductively beside him as she caressed his body – something that was supposed to be mine!

“You know what, Lily? You can have him,” I eventually said, cocking my head proudly, but deep down I was dying inside. “Just like you have always wanted ALL of my leftovers. He didn’t deserve to be my mate. He was trash to begin with. So, feel free to be the garbage can that I dump him in!”

Every fiber of disdain and contempt I felt for both of them was clear for them to see.

Lily, however, was not moved by my statement, she simply giggled and said, “Well, I’m expecting you, the great Warrior Wolf, to have your transformation ritual tonight. Don’t beg Jack to marry you, if you were just a Wolfless Omega.”

“It will never happen!” I snapped. I couldn't understand Lily’s proud and assured words.

There was no doubt about my strength. Tonight, my Wolf will be transformed for the first time and it’s ready for it. Even if I refused to marry Jack, I could still make a deal with my father. I must get my mother's legacy back.

Glaring at me, Jack smirked, “The ritual starts in an hour. You’ll be late if you don’t leave now. Or, you want to join us?”

Shameless!

But, he’s right. I couldn’t miss tonight’s transformation. It might be their plan!

I was barely even out of the room when they started kissing again! I stormed out of his room, slamming the door so hard that it broke, but they just laughed and continued!

Immediately I got outside, the strong camouflage I put on broke into pieces and the pain that filled my heart as I ran back to my car, crying uncontrollably was unimaginable.

I could barely even get myself to drive safely home, but I had to. I wouldn’t miss my transformation as they expected.

My phone suddenly rang. It was my father, the Alpha of Blazed pack.

“Victoria! Where are you?! You do not care about getting your wolf nor do you care about restoring your late mother’s legacy tonight as a Warrior wolf.” he barked as I picked up his call.

“Sorry, Dad. I saw…”

“I don’t care what you’ve seen,” he interrupted. “Now, listen here, you have 30 minutes to drive to the Crescent field. I expect you to do your best – anything less than a transformation, you know how important is to the pack.”

I knew I would definitely get my wolf tonight. I just couldn’t understand why my father doubted me. Even though he knows that my mother was a Warrior wolf and even after my performance in combat skills, he still refuses to see that I am indeed my mother’s daughter.

If tonight is the only way to prove it to him, then I will. “I’m on my way,” I said with a sigh, ending the conversation. Then I drove straight to Crescent field and I joined the other new adults who were already standing under the moon’s glow.

“Welcome young wolves to this year’s Transformation Night. This process is a very easy one. Just close your eyes, let the moonlight illuminate you. You’ll see your wolf, you’ll hear its name, and all you have to do is say it’s name in your heart,” instructed the woman in a white gown.

There was total silence as everyone closed their eyes and concentrated. Soon, I could hear the howls of those near me. They got louder and louder, but I kept my eyes closed, trying to visualize my wolf, but no matter how hard I tried, nothing happened.

As I kept my eyes shut, someone pulled me aside and whispered in my ears, “You have failed this test. Go home.”

I opened my eyes and saw that every other person had shapeshifted except me.

Sneers echoed in my ears.

“Is she the first wolfless Omega in our pack?”

“Yep, and I cannot believe she is our Alpha’s daughter. She is just a shame of our pack!”

“I wonder if Alpha will kick her out.”

“Before that, I bet her fiance will cancel the engagement.”

My father was watching me from the crowd with an angry look on his face. Immediately I got to where he was, he grabbed my hand and pulled me to the car.

“You are a disgrace! Your mother gave up her life giving birth to you, but she probably can’t rest in her grave because her daughter is such a failure!”

“No, it’s impossible. Dad, please give me two more days, I will find out what’s wrong, please...” I plead.

“Bulls*it! You’re still wolfless even I give your twenty days!” he barked at me.

“Excuse me, Alpha. It looks like Victoria get wolfsbane from her system,” the elder dressed in a white gown said to my father.

“Wolfsbane?” I muttered as I looked down my hands.

There was indeed a strange green color under the fingernails of the fingers. It's hard to see without looking closely.

“It must be something you ate today, it’s very fresh in your blood,” the elder continued.

“I barely ate today. How could I after everything… Wait. I had an apple in the morning, Lily gave it to me,” I said, my hands trembling with rage as I wondered what I ever did to Lily to make my eighteenth birthday miserable.

“Dad, it’s Lily, she poisoned me!” I said, staring at my father, “Search her room, maybe we can find out that Wolfsbane.”

“ENOUGH! Victoria! You have failed me by becoming a Wolfless Omega! Now, you even blamed it on your sister!”

“No. Dad, why don’t you trust me? I am also your daughter,” I cried loudly.

“I don’t have a wolfless daughter. Call off the engagement with Jack Storm, you don’t deserve a marriage with anyone from the Storm family, and don’t even think of receiving your mother’s relics, because you won’t be seeing those again!” he ordered, storming off into his car before driving away and leaving me at the field.

My eyes were clouded with tears as I watched him leave me, and it didn’t help that it soon started to rain.

The ritual was indeed over as the Moon hid in the clouds. I squatted on the ground and cried loudly, regardless the cold rain soaked me.

“Mum had told me to marry into the Storm family so I would get back her relics. I can't let Lily get away with this. I need to find someone from the Storm family and marry him.” I contemplated.

Suddenly, an idea came to me. I got up from the ground, pulled out my phone and called a cab. I headed straight home with one thing on my mind the whole ride – Revenge against Lily and that jerk, Jack.

I’ve never felt more certain in my life than I did about this last-minute plan. I knew this plan would give me back everything I’d lost – my mom’s inheritance and my status as a Warrior Wolf Luna.

When I got home, I went straight to my room, took a proper bath, got dressed in the scandalous red gown that I planned to wear tonight with Jack, then I did my make-up.

With a satisfied smile, I looked in the mirror and left the house, heading straight for the only bar attended by elites, and when I got there, my eyes scanned the room, seeking out the pivotal player in my grand scheme.

Then, like a predestined twist of fate, I saw him – tall, platinum-blond, and unmistakably formidable. But that wasn’t any ordinary man. It was Alex Storm, Jack’s Uncle and the man he feared most!

Only yesterday Jack wouldn’t shut up about how pissed he was that his Uncle was going to be in town today at this very bar, but Alex Storm is the very man who can help me get back my mother’s relics.

Besides Jack, Alex was the last bachelor. I must let him marry me, even if it means I have to seduce him till he’s under my spell.

After all, everyone is playing dirty these days.
