Athena’s POV
"We're here!'' I jolted up awake as my mother's high-pitched voice rang out throughout the black BMW that picked us up from the airport. I didn't get much sleep on the plane due to us leaving so early from California to New York. My older brother, Adrien gently shook me awake, as we step out of the vehicle, thanks to whoever opened the door in the first place, seriously what's with all the bodyguards?
I stepped outside and took a good look at the view in front of me. My jaw nearly dropped to the ground as I take in the big mansion surrounded by big iron gates that has security cameras all around it.
This is our house?!
Perks for being a mayor's daughter.
"Holy shit, party every weekend people!!" Adrien shouted out to the neighborhood.
Mom threw him a warning glare. "Don't even think about it."
I stuck my tongue out at Adrien and he mouthed "You neither."
I'm not a party girl, but sometimes, you know, being the daughter of the mayor is a great pressure. So I need a party to release my pressure. That's my secret. If my mom knows it, I will be in big trouble.
I pinched Adrien's arm and he winced in pain but he dared not to make any sound. I don't need to threaten him. My brother would never betray me although I was so mean to him. I know, I'm a bad sister.
Our things were quickly delivered to our individual rooms as soon as we stepped inside the house. It's enormous! Jesus so many chandeliers!
That's a typical taste of Mrs. Mayor: Elegant, flashy, and incredibly boring.
Two creepy-looking maids appeared out of no where, no offence, they lead us up the stairs to a hallway and stopped on the first door on the right.
"This is your room Mr. drew." one of the maid said to Adrien.
"And this is your room miss drew." the other maid informed me. I turn around to face Adrien smirking at me.
"Great! Now I don't have to walk across the house to check up on you every night to make sure you don't sneak out through the window." I gave him the finger and he just chuckled to himself.
I opened my bedroom door to reveal a room heavily coated with the color, black. My favorite color. I glanced around and saw a king sized bed in the middle of the room and two nightstands next to it, another door was inside and I stride across the room and opened it to reveal a bathroom. The only thing that bothers me was the top to floor window that overlooks across the mountain tops to reveal a beautiful sunset.
This, definitely does not go with the black. This window belongs to a room full of pompoms and teddy bears and pink everywhere. I told my mom I don't like these, but she was good at taking my every refusal as a yes.
"I hope you like the view from up here." a sudden voice comes from my doorstep.
"Yeah but I'm just not seeing it." I replied with an ironic tone.
A look of disappointment flashes across my mother's face and she came in and stood beside me.
"Don't be so ungrateful Athena, I specifically asked the interior decorator to select this room with the best view for you."
"Yeah, well the color doesn't go with this big ass window, I hate it and besides I thought you knew me well enough. Oh wait how could I forget, you're a mayor now so that completely makes sense that you don't have enough time to spend with your children to find out what they really like." I snapped.
Mom was about to reply when Adrien popped his head in my room.
"Hey mom? When will dad get here?.....Woah! Cool room sis." he walked in and quickly stood beside us staring at the sunset.
"He'll be here by tonight." Mom replied briefly before walking out giving me a stern look. Dad decided to move in with us later since he has to go on a business trip to Chicago. No surprises there.
"What's wrong with the color?" Adrien suddenly asked pulling me away from my thoughts.
"What? It suits me."
Adrien stared around the room for a while before I shoved him, nearly causing him to trip over his feet.
"Now get out!" Once he's outside I slammed the door in his face.
New home, new city. School starts tomorrow and I don't give a fuck. All I need is to find a good club to sneak in to every night.
