Introduction
Four years ago, a disaster of a fire ruined Song Qiaoxia's life. Both her parents passed away, and her younger brother was severely burnt, hanging on the edge of life and death. To save him, Song Qiaoxia went to jail on behalf of others and gave birth to a stillborn child. All she wanted after her release was to forget her past and live a simple life. But a man wielding immense power forcibly entered her life, even bringing a little sprout with him, who insists on calling her mom! "No, no, no, this can't be true." On the verge of denial, she tried to run away, but was caught around the waist and pulled back: "Gave birth to my child and you think you can run? No way!" Seeing their daddy being so rude, the little sprout rushed in to strategize: "Daddy, we need to pamper mommy!"

Southern Town.

A fierce fire.

Flames devoured everything in sight, filling the sky.

Song Qiaoxia rushed towards the burning house with all her might. Her parents and her brother were trapped inside the raging inferno!

Suddenly, she was yanked back by an unknown force. She found herself thrown onto a bed, beneath a stranger man. His arrogant masculinity pressed against her as he unabashedly appeared to seek something from her. She couldn't help but pant along with his rhythm.

She wanted to scream, but her voice was stuck in her throat.

"Bang, bang, bang—"

Crisp sounds broke the silence.

Song Qiaoxia's eyes snapped open. Sweat was pooling on her face, but she immediately realized it was just a dream.

She touched her belly softly. Maybe it was because of the pregnancy, because of the increase in estrogen, that she kept having the same dream - a dream about that night eight months ago - as if it were a recurring nightmare that haunted her.

“Prisoner 1132, what are you staring at?! You're here for reform, not to be lying around pregnant! Stop faking your death, get up and work!”

A fat prison guard was bellowing at Song Qiaoxia, his police baton constantly slamming against the prison door, causing a "clang clang" noise. “You escaped from the scene and even killed someone. You, trash like you, should taste the bitter life here!”

“I'm coming out,” Song Qiaoxia mumbled faintly with her head down.

She then got up from the bed, dragging her heavy body slowly towards the prison door.

The fat prison guard seemed especially impatient, cursing and grumbling, “Why are you dragging your feet? You're the laziest one in this whole prison! Hurry up!”

"Alright."

Song Qiaoxia tried to quicken her pace, but her body was too heavy, with legs somewhat swollen. She simply could not hurry.

Just as she finally managed to get to the door, before she could even breath a sigh of relief, a sudden shout came from behind, "Are you dawdling on purpose to buy time!"

Song Qiaoxia was frightened and tumbled forward, and her belly hit the ground hard.

A severe pain instantly swept through her body.

She started shivering uncontrollably, a pleading look in her eyes, "Help... It hurts... Please, help me..."

"What kind of act is that? Get up, now!"

"Please... help me..."

"Still pretending? Really think I'm that easily fooled..." The prison guard's irritated voice finally choked back upon seeing the blood on Song Qiaoxia.

An accident had really happened.

"Somebody, a prisoner accidentally fell down!"

She screamed and quickly ran out of the prison to call for help. If the prisoner really had any issues, she couldn't shirk this responsibility.

Song Qiaoxia lay on the cold prison floor, her face twisted in severe pain, yet an eerie smile appeared, which soon turned into a cry.

Maybe her ridiculed life had come to an end here.

...

Four years later, winter.

"Creak--"

The massive iron gate of the prison was pushed open. Song Qiaoxia looked at the blue sky that she hadn't seen in a long time.

Her look, entirely in a trance.

She was free.

But it felt like she had lost her soul.

A month later.

Song Qiaoxia came dashing out of the hospital, bewildered.

"Four years have passed, and there is no sign of the patient waking up. Even if the machine is supporting his life, it doesn't help."

"Given the high medical cost of maintaining the patient's life support, I recommend removing the oxygen mask and allowing him to die a natural death."

The doctor's words resounded in her ears time and again. Each sentence felt like a knife stabbing into her chest.

Four years. She spent four years of her youth wasted in prison, even giving birth to a stillborn in that horrifying place, all to save her little brother's life.

But why couldn't the god turn a blind eye, give her a chance, give her brother a chance to survive.

However, Song Qiaoxia would not give up.

She had already spent four years. Now, she would persevere.

Song Qiaoxia tidied up her feelings and headed towards the hospital's car park.

But unintentionally, she spotted a small figure squatting on the side of her car.

The little girl sported cute pigtail buns, had exquisite small features, a tender and delicate face, and was dressed in a pink princess dress, looking just like a little princess.

However, her eyes were reddish, probably she had cried.

Seeing the pitiful little figure made Song Qiao Xia's heart ache.
