Destiny Griffiths felt hot all over her body.
Scorching hot.
She subconsciously pulled the gown she was wearing and her one-shoulder dress became messy.
The air seemed to heat up too.
She felt extremely uncomfortable as her throat turned dry.
What's going on in this room? It's like a steamer!
And how did she enter this room?
Frowning, she bit her lip while she was lying on the bed with her long dark hair spread out.
In a haze, she seemed to hear someone approaching.
Cold drops of water dripped on her body, alleviating her discomfort in an instant. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at the person who was walking toward her.
She could only vaguely notice that the person was wearing a light gray bathrobe as he stood against the light in the dimly lit room.
His hair was short. Water drops were running down his slender neck toward the neckline of his bathrobe which was loosely tied around his waist.
His masculine aura was highly alleviated by the steam of the bath.
Destiny raised her head and instinctively grabbed the hem of the man's bathrobe, only to hear his husky and cold reply, "Let go!"
Even though Destiny was in a haze, she shrank a little as she felt that he was obviously a dangerous man.
However, she stopped her action when a strange feeling crept back into her heart again after inhaling the scent in the room.
She unconsciously moved closer to the man and the strange feeling somewhat subsided.
However, unknown to her, her behavior was just like a pampered kitten.
With a hazy mind, she couldn't control her action or think clearly while the man who had initially rejected her suddenly changed his mind and made a move toward her.
The water droplets dripped on the bed, spreading out like flowers.
Destiny could no longer think clearly.
They slept together that night. She was but a tiny boat in the stormy ocean and could only hang onto the man whose face she couldn't see clearly as an anchor...
A few days later, Destiny was walking to the bus stop as usual after work.
She had been working overtime recently because she had been unwell and had asked for a few days of leave.
There were a lot of people at the bus stop and the bus she was waiting for had not yet arrived.
Destiny took out her mobile phone to check on the time schedule of the next bus. Suddenly, she heard the commotion of many people shouting in surprise.
She looked up suspiciously and saw a fleet of low-key luxury cars slowly approaching the bus stop. The fleet of cars then stopped by the road.
The doors of the cars were opened uniformly and several tall men in black suits and sunglasses got off from each car. They were expressionless, sturdy and well-trained like robots.
The people near the bus stop began to talk excitedly seeing the rare scene of those luxury cars and somewhat frightening bodyguards.
"Gosh, is this a TV shoot or is there a big shot coming?"
"How could it be a TV shoot? There is not even a video camera here!"
"That's right, there must be a big shot in the car or he may have been somewhere nearby."
"Yeah, it may be a big movie star or a very rich man, otherwise why such a grand ostentation?"
"In any case, it would be someone we've rarely seen in real life!"
These were just common people and for them, such a commotion could only be seen on the TV, so naturally, they became excited.
While listening to their chattering, Destiny glanced at the phone screen. The previous bus had just left two minutes before, and the next one would be in ten minutes.
She sighed. If she had known, she would have run faster.
The surrounding crowd suddenly became quiet, as if they were shocked.
The sudden silence came hand in hand with the darkness unto her.
Destiny's phone screen appeared relatively bright in the dim light.
She was stunned. When she raised her head, she became frightened by what she saw and her heart instantly beat faster.
Unknowingly, she was densely surrounded by a group of strong bodyguards in black!
She could hardly breathe as her petite figure was blocked by those tall bodyguards.
What's...what's going on?!
Destiny was as shocked as those onlookers who had enthusiastically talked outside of the wall of bodyguards.
"Greeting, Miss Griffiths." The courteous man standing in front of her with gold-rimmed glasses suddenly said, "Mr. Edwards wants to see you. Please come with us, Miss Griffiths."
The man spoke in polite terms, yet his tone was firm.
Mr. Edwards who?
Destiny held the phone tightly and gulped nervously, "Mr. Edwards? I don't know any Edwards. I'm afraid that you mistook me with another person."
The Griffiths family was quite rich in City S, but she really didn't know anyone with such a pomp and style.
"Miss Griffiths, we found out that the woman who attended the dinner party of the Edwards family was you."
