Sage Scott was lying on the operating table.

The operating lights were so bright that she could not even open her eyes. She could only hear the collision of machinery and the cold voice of the doctor.

"Scalpel."

"Tweezer."

"Take the child out!"

She wanted to move and struggle desperately, but she found in despair that her body was completely out of control. She stared at the glaring lights hopelessly, but the cold lights seemed to be laughing at her stupidity.

She was just an orphan. At the age of 16, she entered the entertainment industry and had been working hard. Relying on her own efforts, she became a B-list actress. When she was 22 years old, she met Xaiver Maben.

Xaiver was the president of a well-known chain hospital in the country. He was twenty-eight years old, elegant and gentle. For the first time he met Sage, he began to pursue her crazily. But Sage never believed that someone would treat her wholeheartedly because of her childhood experience, so she rejected him repeatedly.

However, he was like the sunshine, bringing her warmth and hope.

She fell for him gradually and lost her guard. They lived together secretly, and he never let her contracept. He said that they would keep the child if she was pregnant, and he would be responsible for the child and her.

She really thought that she met someone whom she could rely on.

But...

Her lover, the man she loved with all her heart, gave her a heavy blow in the end.

It turned out that Xaiver approached her and had a child with her, not because he liked her, but because she was the sister of the woman he loved.

That woman was suffering from leukemia and could not find a suitable bone marrow to transplant. So when he knew that she had a twin sister, he tried his best to look for her. Unfortunately, Sage's bone marrow also did not suit that woman. So Xaiver came up with another way. He approached her and tried to give birth to a child to save the woman with the child's umbilical cord blood.

Xaiver doted on her all the time, just for this moment.

"Sage, Yvette is your sister. You should save her."

Sage smiled sadly when she thought of Xaiver, who took off his gentle mask and said the cold words before she entered the operating room. Sister? She was left in the orphanage since young. Since when did she have a sister? Even if Yvette was her blood-related sister, they have no feelings at all. What right did she have to risk the child of Sage to save her?"

But Xaiver knew Sage well, and she was innocent! She was defenseless against Xaiver. He controlled her easily, put her under anesthesia, and asked the doctor to push her into the operating room.

Her child was only seven months. It was forcibly taken out as a premature child because Yvette's disease recurred, and she would die if she did not get treated.

A surge of hatred rushed up from her chest. How dared them! How dared they played with her feelings? Why were they treating her child like this?

That was also his child!

"Xaiver, how could you be so heartless! How could you!" She could only curse in her heart.

At this moment, a faint cry of a child appeared beside her ears.

Her child!

Sage tried her best to turn her head, but she could only see the doctors' hazy figures and hear their emotionless conversation.

"The child has been taken out."

"Hurry up! Cut the umbilical cord, keep the blood."

A few minutes later, a nurse answered, "It's done, what should we do now?"

"Send the umbilical cord blood to Miss Badley immediately."

"What about here?"

"Put the child in the incubator and prepare to sew the wound."

Sage's eyes were red, but she could not shed tears. She did not know whether she should thank the doctor for his mercy to put her child into the incubator. Her premature child was impossible to survive without being put into the incubator.

But at this moment, the door of the operating room was pushed open, and Sage heard the man's anxious and angry voice.

"Why are you guys still dawdling here? Yvette is dying. Hurry up and perform surgery on her!"

"But here..." Her newly cut abdomen had not been stitched yet.

"I'm asking you guys to go right now!"

The doctor looked at Sage with pity but did not dare to refute. Because this hospital was under the management of Xaiver. Sage felt a sudden pain in her heart until it became numb. A drop of tears at the corner of her eyes slipped into her hair on the temples. As the footsteps receded, the operating room was soon quiet. Only the child's increasingly feeble cries remained

Child...

Her child...

Sage's abdomen felt cold, and a strong smell of blood wafted out. The sheets under her body were getting wet. Her head was getting dizzier. She bit her lips so hard to keep herself awake and struggled to get up with all her strength.

She saw that.

She saw her child.

Her child was as wrinkled as a kitten. The body of it was red, with blood that had not been washed. It was crying with mouth slightly open and looked very pitiful. Sage's tears burst out in an instant.

"Xaiver Maben! Why are you so cruel? This is your own child!"

She scolded in her heart.

The anesthesia gradually faded away. The wound in her abdomen that had not been stitched up was so painful that she broke out in cold sweat. Blood kept spilling out. Sage struggled to lie beside the child, but she was horrified to find that the child's breathing was getting weaker and weaker.

"Help... Help! Please save my child... Who can save my child..."

"Xaiver, this is your child. Please come and save the child!"

Her voice became hoarse, but no one responded to her.

Sage felt a chill in her heart.

She could not help touching the child's tender face. She did not even know whether the child was a boy or a girl. The baby's skin was so tender. She was even afraid that her hand would hurt the child's skin.

In Sage's desperate scream, the child's voice gradually disappeared, the breathing of it quieted down slowly until the last trace of warmth in the body turned into coldness.

"Why... why..."

Sage had never been this despairing before, nor had she hated someone so much in her heart! She had no opinion if they did not sew her wound because of Yvette's urgent surgery. She had no parents since she was young, so she had experienced the bitterness of life. No one would feel sorry even if she died. She was not important to him, so it was reasonable not to save her!

But why! As long as Xaiver said something, the nurse would definitely send the child to the incubator, and the child would be safe and sound, but why was he not willing to give her such mercy?

She hated him!

She hated his guts!

Sage used all her strength and took the child into her arms. She had lost too much blood, and her whole body felt weak. Her vision blurred, and she knew that she was dying.

No one would be able to save her life at this time.

"Haha..."

As Sage saw the white sheets under her body gradually turned red. She suddenly laughed out loud. Her eyes were blood-red, but her face was pale, looking like a devil crawling out of hell.

She held the child tightly in her arms, and there seemed to be no end to the bleeding in her abdomen. The blood on the sheets spread and gradually flowed to her whole body, soaking her clothes wet.

She swore with her blood-red eyes.

"Xaiver, if there is an afterlife, I must let you experience the pain of losing your lover and family separation."
