Under the bright sunshine, a horrifying scene was unfolding in a secluded corner.
A young woman, dressed in tattered clothes, was suspended high above the ground, her body subjected to a relentless lashing.
Blood trickled from her numerous wounds, her skin torn open to reveal raw, exposed flesh.
With every strike of the whip, another piece of her was savagely ripped away.
Her strength was all but drained, her ability to speak lost, and she teetered on the brink of life.
"Keep screaming! Let's see who dares to save you! Hahaha..." A young man wielding the whip laughed cruelly.
Behind him, a young woman dressed in exquisite attire lifted her head arrogantly.
A satisfied smile played on her lips, her eyes brimming with contempt as she watched the brutal spectacle.
"Julian, enough. Don't kill her just yet! We wouldn't want her to find an easy escape in death!" The young woman's voice was melodious yet chilling, her words enough to send a shiver down one's spine.
"Joycelin, are you going to let her go just like that?" The young man was obviously not satisfied and went on to whip her hard again.
"Look at her, can we have any more fun with that? Let's play more next time!" The young lady smiled and comforted him. She stepped forward and stroked the young man's head.
"It's useless even if this good-for-nothing doesn't die. I really don't know why Grandpa wants to keep her alive. Seeing her makes me sick! She even dares to covet your lover. D*mn it! Her eyes should be dug out so that she would look ugly for the rest of her life." The young man said angrily. However, when he saw the girl's pathetic appearance, his mood improved.
"Who is she to see Arnold? She has an ugly face, yet she still dares to look at Arnold!" The young lady echoed. She looked a little shy when she mentioned her crush.
"Joycelin, let's go! I heard that Arnold is going to see the beast fighting competition today..." Looking at Joycelin's shy look, the young man smiled.
"Let's go over then! Haha!" At the mention of Arnold, the young lady immediately left with the young man. They ignored the half-dead young lady hanging on the tree and left her there.
She watched them leave, her eyes filled with hatred!
Unfortunately, she had no chance to take revenge. Her increasingly heavy eyelids told her that she had no time left. No matter how much she hated them, God would not give her a chance.
Finally, the young lady drew her last breath.
......
A gust of evil wind swept through, accompanied by a thunderous roar that struck the young lady's lifeless body.
Miraculously, her eyes snapped open, radiating a chilling murderous intent that could freeze one's blood.
But as quickly as it came, the storm in her eyes subsided, replaced by a serene calm.
She shifted her leg, wrapping it around the rope that had her bound to a tree.
With a powerful yank, the rope snapped.
She spun elegantly in mid-air before landing lightly on the ground.
The figure that had been dangling helplessly was now rooted firmly on the earth.
"I will seek vengeance for your grievances. Rest in peace," she murmured, her eyes flickering open again, now glinting with a ruthless, icy resolve. She was her, yet she was not.
A chilling wind blew past. A faint specter in the shadows ahead bowed slightly to the girl before vanishing in the blink of an eye.
"A world where power commands respect? I can work with that," the young lady declared, clenching her fists.
But a furrow appeared on her brow, "This body is too weak. No wonder she was constantly tormented."
Relying on her memories, she navigated through a labyrinth of alleys, finally arriving at a dilapidated courtyard she could call her own. She changed into a fresh set of clothes.
Upon seeing the myriad of whip marks marring her skin, she snorted in disdain...
